We stayed only one night en route to Cherbourg. We were welcomed by the owner, who loved our puckand mentioned that he also had one, quite a coincidence. There were plenty of places available and we were offered 2 pitches for the price of one allowing us to drive on and leave the caravan hooked up. The toilets ans showers were hot and there was also a large washing up room again with loads of hot water. The site is very close to the Pegasus bridge and the museum. Gave us a code for the gates which didn't work, instead of sorting it he just opened the barrier which was OK until we went out for a walk the next day and couldn't get back into the site. Finally got his attention after about 20 mins then he demanded to see our invoice to prove we were staying there, not happy when we told him it was in the van! All that said, nice location; 20 min walk to Pegasus Bridge and 15 min walk into Ranville where there is a small supermarket but not much else apart from the beautiful military cemetery there. Handy for the D Day...

There are beautiful memorials in the village and the church to the 13th Battalion Paratroops who after bitter fighting freed this tiny village. The villages remembr the soldiers every year with a church service. Many War Commision graves are lovingly...
