With caution||The site is easily found, a traffic light system in situ as the road is single lane, but nothing to concern anyone.||If you turn up during lunchtime, reception is closed until 2PM, but there is a holding area so you can park up.||Checking in was straightforward, they do accept ACSI cards which is good.|The pitches are a reasonable size, we have a 8-meter van and it was fine plenty of space. The hookup was close and with our lithium and inverter everything was fine.||We did dine at the café/restaurant, the food was ok, typical ‘fast food’ the restaurant is not dog friendly, and when we visited it was quiet.||There is a small shop/bar attached to the restaurant, a limited supply of basic groceries, a bar and ice cream. They do take orders for daily bread but be aware they are not the best in quality, combined with a regular variance in price, which is hard to understand or comprehend. Food is expensive for what it is, I recommend Le Relais 1.7km , so a decent walk or cycle and they are dog friendly, and the food is excellent, better quality and better value than the campsite.||Access to the site is interesting, they are very security conscious and have a keypad entry to the site, even for pedestrians, the redundant pedestrian access has been fenced off. No idea why this has happened.||The showers are fine, a little dated, but fine, the WC again fine but dated, the handwashing in the WC is cold water and the soap dispenser is not always full or functioning.||The laundry facility is ok, its next to the crockery washing facility, again, fine but the water is not hot enough, but sufficient for your needs.||There is a decent water supply along most of the roads within the site, grey water and toilet dump fine.||What’s the negative?|Well, we were parked close to the pool and café, most of the services on site close at 11PM, fine by us. One night there was a lot of activity at the café/restaurant, due to the nature of the building I suspect the awning sort of amplifies the sound, so I popped over and it was 4 young men talking rather loudly, mostly engaged in their mobile phone, I asked them politely to reduce the noise, which they eventually did. I did mention it the following day to the manager of the café and he apologised as did another gentleman, who I assumed was the site manager. They explained they were celebrating the birth of a child. Apology accepted, end of issue.||Some nights later, there was again some activity at the café, we were expecting it to end at 11PM as per the site rules, it didn’t. I gave it some time and I eventually looked out of the window, I could see several adults, plus youths and small children having ‘fun’ inside the restaurant and it appeared that some were practising line dancing. It was very noisy and frankly rude. |At 12:15 I decided enough and went over to have a chat, the member of staff I spoke to agreed to sort it out, eventually they did stop the party, some 30 mins later, but they compounded the issue by walking slowly past our motorhome, chatting loudly back to their residence. They were the staff who ran the restaurant/café. You would have thought after my 1st chat, they would have respected the guest’s ability to sleep and enjoy their vacation. ||We did have a chat with the staff at reception and we moved pitches. He agreed to have a word!!||So overall a bit of a mixed bag.||Would we return, short answer no. If you do intend using this site be aware that there could be some disturbance if you are close to the restaurant/ café. This has been mentioned before in previous reviews, so lessons have not been learnt.||Had the manager or the owner of the cafe not abused his position and arranged another noisy party well after midnight sleepless night for us, I would have informed him that about the defect on his car, but there you go, what...
Read moreWe have visited this site previously giving glowing reviews, but this year our experience was not so good. Too many cabins and static caravans, not really a true camp/caravan touring site any more. Ok, facilities were fine, reasonably clean, small issue with the "dribble" of water from the taps in the washing up area but overall OK, just too busy and very noisy, no adherence or policing of the 23.00 curfew! In fact most of the noise up until 00.30 was from staff in the bar! Not a problem with the showers closing at 22.00, but there are no sinks to wash in or clean teeth, except a tiny handbasin in the toilets, ugh!!||Now the main gripe.||We had booked for three days in June at the start of our holiday, and two days in July at the end. (Les Peoplers is very convenient for the ferry port). Upon arrival we paid for our three days, but the next day asked if we could stay for an extra day. No problem said the lady in reception. I returned about 10 minutes later to pay for the extra day and a gentleman, who I believe was the manager, took my 18 Euros in cash.||We left after the fourth day and promptly received an email from Coralie saying that we had left without paying for our fourth day! I called and explained that I had paid and to whom, but Coralie was adament that we had not paid. After a long conversation where I explained that I would not have left without paying I realised that the gentleman I had paid had not given me a receipt, consequently I had no proof of payment so I had to pay again. Coralie did say they would check the cash to see if there was a discrepancy and if so would sort the problem out when we returned in July. ||Upon our return I was brusquely told that there was no evidence of my payment and as I had no receipt then I had not paid and there would be no refund of my 18 Euros. The gentleman who I gave the payment to was in the office when I was discussing this, but promptly left when he realised who I was! ||Frankly I am not going to miss a paltry 18 Euros, I guess for the site it is just a bit more profit, but I am mortified that they thought I would try to leave without paying and would not accept that the "gentleman" who took my money did not have the decency to admit that he had taken it!||It is a shame because the site is very convenient for the Port at Ouistreham, may use it again, but only for a one night stopover. The moral of this is, demand a receipt for any payment at the office of this site and never...
Read moreWe came here as a base for a bit of a tour of the landing beaches and on our way home from the south. It was just out of season so it was pretty quiet.|Site is well organised with strict entry, keys etc.|Facilities are good with lots of water stands and electrical bollards. Not quite so hedged as many in France. They’d allocated us a lovely emplacement which unfortunately someone took without their knowledge apparently “not knowing” that they couldn’t just park where they fancied! (The gate keys are specific to emplacement). Anyway they were very apologetic to us and gave us some other choices very quickly.|Walking distance (500m) to the beach but not right on it. Country walks from site. It’s quite a distance to shops and restaurants in town, possible on adjacent bike path.|Good pool, part covered.|There is a narrow entrance lane which is controlled effectively by automatic traffic lights, don’t ignore them!|Good base for Normandy! Nearby big supermarket with fuel. (...
