Even 1 star is not worthy.
I stayed here with my wife and my 84 year old mother. I wanted to find something quiet and rustic as it was our first time in Normandy.
Rustic is the correct word. We had both rooms in the back of the main house. These are up a long flight of stairs - and apparently they have veterans doing this climb each year? Anyway, the light wasn't working, so we needed to use our phones to light the stairs. (This remained broken during our stay) It was October, the room was cold, the bedding was damp and the heating was off. It clearly hadn't been used in a while and and the bedding as not refreshed before we arrived. Our host assured us it was 18°C in his home.. (as my wife wore a coat to breakfast.
Breakfast... if you can call it that? Bread, butter, jam.... Orange juice and very bad coffee. This is what they call breakfast apparently... (we ended up going to a supermarket and buying our own eggs and ham, so we could have something more to eat in the mornings). On the first day, my wife had some chicken she wanted to heat in the microwave - the owner/host was complaining and shouting and swore at her. It only stopped when I came into the kitchen to find out what was happening. He suggested we leave... IF I had been able to find another place for 3 people to stay for 4 nights at that moment; we would have put our bags back in the car and left right then.
So: A bed and breakfast (with breakfast that would cause a riot in a prison). A cold damp room; without the heating (that would have caused a riot in a prison) Rude owners; who also actually stand over you watching, as you eat breakfast. (that.. yeah... ok... you get it..)
Being positive for a moment.... On the second night they did actually turn the heating on.. but it was so low it hardly made any difference. But that was the only time during our stay that they did turn it on for us.
For 3 of us, it was over €500 - I expect a whole lot more than what we got for the money (I would have been better off booking us into the...
Read moreFirstly, I have nothing good to say about this place. I do have a list of bad points which I will bullet point to make less reading:||||Rude arrogant owners who actually said to my wife "fcking English" because she asked to heat some chicken in thier microwave. If I had heard this, we would have left immediately (My wife is not even English).||||I was told off because we arrived late (Stuck in Paris traffic)||||Bed and..... there is nothing I call breakfast. Bread and jam only. ||||If you like coffee, find a Starbucks or something.||||We purchased eggs, ham & cheese from the supermarket to eat something for breakfast. ||||No heating in the room. The owner insisted it was +18° in his house. They did turn the heating on for 1 night which must have been set at low, because the radiator was hardly warm.||||Green Room - noise from the kitchen below. Radio on each morning at 5am. Microwave on and off (The first morning I thought this was for breakfast.. no.. thier own breakfast, not for the paying guests)||||Room sound proofing is non existent.||||One central stairs going to the guest rooms. Second night the bulb stopped working. I reported this at breakfast and was not repaired while we were there. Lucky I had a torch in my car, and our phones. But for my 80 year old mother, this was not safe. ||||While you eat, they stand over you like prison guards. Very off putting and uneasy feeling. ||||Tip: Bring your own breakfast. It's the world's only self catering B&B.||||No toothbrush holder in the bathrooms. ||||only 2 very old and small towels.||||No in-room kettle or tea/coffee.||||For €500 for 3 people; I expected a whole lot more.||||*Find...
