We arrived a little bit to early at the park Normandy Garden. We were welcomed by a friendly lady at the reception. Normally we could go to our cottage only at 17h but the lady checked with the cleaning team to see if our cottage was already cleaned and that was the case. So we could enter it already earlier.
Unfortunately we were a little bit disappointed when we first arrived at our Superiour cottage. Based on the pictures on the site of P&V we were expecting a nice bright painted cottage in yellow and blue. We got instead a dark brown cottage looking more like a boring garden shed then a nice holiday house.
On the site of P&V it's difficult to see what kind of interior and layout you get. On the park there are some with the same layout like the ones ones like on the parks in Grospierre, Lacanau or Pont Royal. We got one with a complete different layout and also interior. Everything was on ground floor. This was an advantage with our older dog so that we didn't had to take him upstairs when going to sleep. But the disadvantage was that the front door is directly in the living room. So we had to be careful when we entered so that our dog could not run outside.
Inside it smelled freshly cleaned but after an hour a smell came from the toilette and bathroom. This is manly because there is nearly no ventilation in this places. There is for example no window. We had to buy multiple air fresheners to have a nice smell in the cottage.
We missed a decent terrace. The current one was really to small so we had to move always the chairs and tables to go inside. The garden of our cottage was large. There was no privacy at all when sitting in the garden or on the terrace. Luckily it was calm in the park during the week so this was not too disturbing.
The television in the living room and bedroom didn't work, just like the dvd player in the living room. The water boiler looked disgusting. We went to the reception for this and they send a technician. He solved the issue with the televisions and dvd player and gave us also a new water boiler.
After a walk in the park we were thinking about going back to the reception to ask for another cottage. Especially when you know that there are cottages that were build more recently and had a more fresh and modern interior. The placement of the terrace was also more logic. But they didn't had a lot of garden. The privacy was for most of this cottages the same like the cottage we had. We decided to not change mainly because of our dog. He liked the large garden and it was more easy for him that everything was on ground floor.
During the week it was very quiet and peaceful in the park. It was disturbed one time when there were people staying for a congres. It seems to be normal for them to be loud and un-respectful for their neighbours.
The park is clean and very green. It's not to far from different nice places like for example Deaville. The landing beaches are only an hour away from the park.
The park have 2 outdoor pools and an indoor pool with sauna and steambath so even by bad weather you can go for a swim. They were all nice and clean. Only in the steambath there was a musty smell
There is also an indoor playground for kids, tennis and badminton fields and a youth area on the park. We didn't visited this places.
We ate a few times in the restaurant of the park. The food was always good. The service was nice. The value for money is really ok. It's a good place to go when you don't want to cook or don't want to go off the park for diner in the evening.
We made the best out of our holiday even with the not so Superior cottage. All by all we had a nice stay in Normandy Garden. But We are still left with a bit of a bitter aftertaste knowing that there were houses who would have fitted the term "Superiour" better for the same price like we payed for our not so Superior cottage.
We will maybe go back to Normandy Garden but then we will ask for one of the newer cottages not in the zone...

Over priced children's club, Bed linen and towels clean apartment clean but very tatty, everything else was a real disappointment. Paths uneven lots of trip hazards, no ramps for push chairs or wheelchairs, sorry there is one ramp into the viking ship play area. Steps unsafe into the hall complex not suitable for children chipped and uneven. Ivy growing around doors and windows over roofs and from ground to 1st floor apartments, weeds everywhere although some young men were there hacking trees and shrubbery, landscaping is not there forte. Bins in the grounds emptied only on Saturday by then smelly and overflowing. Curtains in little bedroom of apartment too long, curtain lay on the bed, and was hanging off the curtain rail, window frames inside filthy. Plug socket in kitchen area near floor hanging off. Bathroom shower screen had mould on bottom, bathroom too small cannot get 2 people in unless one stands in the bath while other at the sink, so small really tight to close door when you are in the bathroom. Kitchen/living area is clean but so outdated and shabby, dining chairs rickety, sharp areas on sofa/pull down caught legs getting out. One of the holiday lets near the childrens village play area with viking ship is a dumping ground for old washing machines, boilers, chairs etc an eyesore. This holiday village needs complete renovation of the accommodation areas inside and out . Would not pass UK standards especially with the state of paths and grounds. Probably lovely in its heyday, but now forgotten by the shareholders. Doesn't really cater for Brits .Young staff were friendly. Will try post...
Read moreStayed for a week with my family, not what we expected or paid for... The accommodation was poor, mould in the bathroom, gaps behind the faucets letting water in, no oven, only a microwave grill, so cooking pizza and chips took near on an hour and one was cold before the other was hot The sofabed was missing a cover and the cushions slipped off every time you stood up. The park itself was nice, swimming pool was the main attraction, as we stayed in the French term time there was no clubs for the kids to do anything, NADA, zip, f**k all.... We had to drive 30 minutes to find anything worth while, there was local horse riding, and other activities but nothing we could let them go off and do as we had to drive them there. The shop was massively over priced, which if you didn't venture to the nearest Carrefour you'd be skint after two nights. The bar and restaurant didn't open before 7 so couldn't relax with a beer/wine while the kids were in the outdoor pool and you'd need a mortage to buy them, €5.50 for a 330ml beer and €3.50 for a kids Capri sun. The TV had no English channels which I know you don't go on holiday to watch TV but trying to wind down after a stressful day finding your feet is a comfort many would go to, so bring a streaming box or connect your mobile/tablet/laptop to the TV is an absolute must. The area was lovely and lots of locals...
