We've just returned from 2 weeks at Camping le Lac and we absolutely loved it. The views are lovely from the pitches next to or just set back from the lake - the pitches are big and there aren't too many of them!||||The staff were really helpful and a huge bonus was Tom who does daily free sailing lessons for the kids - he was friendly and patient with them and it was a real adventure. We also went on a randonnee walk to explore the megaliths - again free - which was friendly and interesting. We also had a lovely pony ride around the site for €6.||||Reception staff were friendly and helpful finding an extra night for us on arrival and helping us to move pitch while we were there. ||||The pool is small, chilly and beautiful bordering the lake with great views and there is also a bouncy castle so we hardly saw the kids. There is no tacky evening entertainment so the site is quiet at night - which is a bonus for us.||||There is lots to do in the area - great beaches ranging from quiet calm coves to big surf breaks and the evening entertainment Fest Noz was great fun. Opposite the site is a seafood farm so you can paddle across and buy dinner. We also hired kayaks and explored the river which again is beautiful.||||Other reviews have mentioned being able to hear dogs barking - and you can as there is some kind of kennels nearby - but it didn't bother us at all. ||||We used camping cheques which made our stay really reasonable but even without these the costs are way lower than other sites we considered.||||We've seen so many campsites in France and this one is my favorite by far. If you're in to waterpark/kids club/evening entertainment/massive sites then this isn't for you but it suited us perfectly and we really didn't want to leave. Thanks to all of staff for a...
Read moreWent there in May 2022 and stayed for 6 nights. It’s a really beautiful campground, perfect if you look for peace and quiet in a fantastic surrounding. Close to Carnac, Quiberon and the Belle Ile it’s a true paradise.
I would estimate that it’s 70 : 30 between all kinds of bungalows/mobile homes and actual camp pitches, so you have a lot of choices in different price ranges. We stayed in our camper van on a great pitch directly by the lake.
Washrooms seem to be very new and are kept in good order, the swimming pool with a view of the lake must have been renovated recently, reception and playgrounds are new as well.
The staff is really friendly and helpful, and as a bonus there are the cutest little goats you can imagine. :-) (see pictures)
About the dogs some reviewers mention: We were told that in the neighborhood there is a kennel with quite a few hunting dogs which like to “express themselves “. We took this as part of a really unique nature experience and had six (!) good night’s sleeps. If you’re sensitive, bring ear plugs (always a good idea on a campground). If you’re very sensitive, this might not be the right place for you.
All in all: We loved it here and will certainly return in...
Read moreThis campsite is great for families wanting a quieter campsite. Everything is clean and maintained well. There is a small bar and restaurant onsite as well as bread delivered in the mornings. There is also a great artisan ice cream selection to keep the kids quiet.
The downside to the site is the pool, it is in desperate need of TLC with a few missing stones here and there and a tired look. The water is really clean however so they do maintain it. We were also near the new loo blocks so maybe the site is undergoing a gradual upgrade, I don't know.
What we loved was the proximity to the beaches and Carnac. This meant we could cycle everywhere with the kids. We had the pick of the beaches (Beaumer the best imo) all within 5 miles ride and you can use mostly cycle paths. You can cycle round the stones as well, and the map they give you at reception is great.
Would recommend going if you want a quiet campsite in a nice secluded spot with...
