Nordlys is a wonderful place with wonderful hosts.

The Place; Nordlys is in a rural area but sits amongst a small group of other gites and chambre d’hôtes. It is only a 5 minutes drive (or 25 minute walk) to Saint Anne D’Auray which has: free parking, a small supermarket, genuine French restaurants and the famous basilica. Being able to do a part of the Camino Trail is a bonus.

In the other direction (south) there are all the attractions around Vannes, Quiberon etc. All within easy driving distance. A large supermarket at Auray is a 10 minute drive away.

The accommodation is spotless and has: on site parking, very comfortable beds, spacious rooms with convenient storage, magnificent shower and quality furniture & fittings. The gardens are delightful. Even little things like two-way lighting switches make the place so comfortable.

The Hosts; Pauline and Clement are a lovely French couple and their English is quite good. They were very willing to help me with my broken, let’s say fractured, attempts at French. Their good English was useful when they were giving suggestions about local attractions etc.

Breakfasts were quality continental and included two crepes p.p. etc. etc. Pauline made a special effort to cook some sensational gluten free items for my dietary needs. It is an indication of the effort that the hosts make in ensuring that all the guests...

🌟 Je recommande vivement cette chambre d’hôtes ! Quelle coïncidence incroyable de rencontrer d'autres amoureux de la Norvège juste après notre voyage là-bas 🇳🇴. Dès notre arrivée, l'accueil a été parfait, avec un échange très professionnel.

🏡 La bâtisse est magnifique, située dans un environnement calme, proche des chemins de randonnée et à seulement 15 minutes de la mer – un emplacement idéal. La chambre et la salle de bain, ainsi que les espaces communs, étaient d'une propreté irréprochable et décorés avec beaucoup de goût.

🍽️ Le petit déjeuner était copieux, avec des gâteaux et des crêpes faits maison 🥞. Une attention particulière a été portée aux allergies, ce qui est très apprécié. Pendant notre séjour, la chambre a été aspirée et les serviettes changées régulièrement.

☀️ Nous avons profité de l'accès à la terrasse et à la pièce à vivre. Les conseils pour nos randonnées ont été précieux. Même notre Golden Retriever, Alma, a été très bien accueillie 🐾.
