We stayed with our touring caravan (white area on map) July/August 2019 and had a lovely, enjoyable time. It is in a good position opposite the beach with a short walk to the harbour and a slightly longer walk into Quiberon. ||The reception staff and life guards are lovely, smiling, helpful and polite. The girl in the bar ignored us sometimes and was on occasion rude to us, opting to serve French speaking people before us even as they’d just walked in through the door.||Our touring pitch was fully serviced and was an OK size, fitting on the caravan, awning and car. We had just enough room left to fit 4 camp chairs on. Most pitches are shaded which was a welcome relief in our first week of a heatwave. We tripped the electric box once and the friendly maintenance man came to rectify it within half an hour. Some pitches need a 2 pin plug adapter.||Friends stayed in a static caravan (pink area on map) and could only just fit their car next to it due to the close proximity of other cars, caravans and bushes. Their caravan was lovely and seemed fairly new.||I would have given this site 5 stars if there had been more toilet/shower blocks. They were clean and tidy, however the women had 3 toilets and 4 showers for the whole of the site. There are 25 camping pitches who have to use the toilets/showers, but many static caravan people also use them. There is no hand basin or soap in the men’s toilets, but there is in the women’s? Very unhygienic. At the pool toilets also there is no hand basin or soap!!||We definitely would return to this site if they continue to take campers. Since Siblu has taken over I believe 50 pitches have been lost to statics. Official Siblu people were wandering around the camping area whilst we were there. Maybe next year it might all be statics which...
Read moreIf you're looking to avoid meeting you're country fellowmen on holiday, you should definitely stay at Camping du Conguel which is 'inhabited' mostly by French citizens like the rest of Quiberon seems to be. (If you're looking for a nice quiet campsite, located at the very tip of Quiberon, go there too.)
We have stayed at the campsite for one week and have enjoyed the direct view at the Atlantic ocean very much. A road is situated next to the campsite on which traffic is audible during the day. Because the road is a scenic road to Port Maria, it is mainly driven by sight-seeing cars and motorcycles. Although we were situated directly adjacent to the road, the noise did not bother us although opinions may vary. At night, traffic usually reduced to zero with only an occasional car passing at night.
The great part of the camping is it's location. Many, many different beaches are within a hand's reach. The beach directly across the road is mostly used by camping visitors but the Pointe Conguel offers three additional beaches. When following the very scenic walking path to Port Maria, you'll discover the many other beaches and small bays available. Port Maria itself is a very nice beach town well worth many visits.
The other side of the island offers an even more scenic road along the Cote Sauvage (wild coast) which features high cliffs, secluded bays and beaches, high waves and if it's your thing, bunkers located in the dunes.
Nearby cities such as Vannes, Lorient and Aurey offer a lot of history, atmosphere and room for further...
Read moreSiblu Le Conguel is a great Siblu. Wonderful location, facilities and friendly helpful staff. The swimming pool complex and slides are great. Snack bar food is delicious. Little shop is surprisingly well stocked and not too expensive. Sports area good too with two pitches, table tennis and tennis. Good bar too that serves coffee/breakfast on a balcony in the morning and does it’s own flavoured runs in the evening, alongside the football. The accommodation is standard siblu - nice large balcony outside cabin. Access to the beach and the beautiful Quiberon peninsula is great and we had a wonderful time exploring swimming canoeing finding shells on the beach etc. We had a packed week and could have easily filled another.||Only small points to quibble with - the cabins here are much closer together than at other Siblus, I suspect because this camp is so popular. So be aware that other than your balcony you don’t really have any outside space at your cabin. We also ordered the linen pack as well as towels - and I don’t think the team were used to that. So it was a bit of a battle to get that pack, including a late call to their duty staff when it still hadn’t turned up! In fairness the duty staff came and fixed it with a smile. ||Overall a great Siblu. We would...
