Labarthe B&B And Gite — Hotel in Marmande

We’ve just returned from a truly wonderful stay at Labarthe, in their gîte. We honestly could not have wanted for more — it’s one of the most organised and well-equipped properties we’ve ever stayed in. Every little detail has been thought of, and everything you could possibly need is right there.||We were a group of friends staying together (two couples), and the property was absolutely ideal for us. The layout, size, and setting struck just the right balance of privacy and shared space. It had exactly the right vibe — relaxed, welcoming, and effortlessly comfortable. The location was spot on too: peaceful and immersed in nature, yet well situated for exploring the area.||The beds deserve a special mention — incredibly comfortable, offering the best sleep I’ve had in months! Even during the summer heat, the rooms remained cool thanks to fans and mosquito nets on the windows, allowing us to sleep with them open all night.||The property itself is stunning. The views are exceptional — “the view” we’d heard about really does live up to its reputation. Surrounded by nature, with wildlife all around (including some very cute bunnies!), it’s peaceful and full of charm. The scent of the pine trees as we left was the perfect finishing touch — so soothing and relaxing. And of course, the pool is just marvellous — refreshing and beautifully maintained.||Richard, Jeannette, and Jack (gorgeous doggo Jack) are the most welcoming and knowledgeable hosts. They strike the perfect balance — always available if you need them, yet never intrusive. This was our third year at Labarthe and my husband and I will be back again next year. We spent one week in the B&B and two weeks in the Gite. Richard and Jeanette are the perfect hosts and nothing is too much trouble for them. Jeanette’s presentation and cleaning of the cottage and B&B rooms is second to none. The beds are very comfortable and the bedding superb - I am extremely fussy on these areas so they get 10/10 from me! Pool towels are provided. Richard provides a wonderful breakfast selection to B&B guests, including delicious seasonal figs from their own garden. He keeps the pool beautifully clean and the grounds are very well maintained. This summer was exceptionally hot so the fans were a great asset.||The cottage has everything one would and the kitchen is well provided for. Jeanette’s kitchen welcome pack is always much appreciated. The private terrace is lovely for dining and whiling away a few hours with a favourite book.||Richard and Jeanette are so welcoming and kind and the views from the garden at Labarthe towards Duras and Baleyssagues are stunning. The nice thing about coming back again is seeing all the little things that have been done to maintain the property. This year we found new double glazed windows and doors had been installed - they keep on top of everything. Having owned our own house in nearby Monsegur for 20 years, we wouldn’t consider staying anywhere else in this beautiful area. If you want peace and quiet, but with lots of facilities nearby look no further. History abounds...

We arrived to a warm welcome from our hosts Richard and Jeanette, this was extended to us whenever we entered or left the house. The business is extremely well run and spotlessly clean with bedsheets changed on the third day (we stayed for 5 days B&B) and pool cleaned daily by Richard. Each morning we were treated to amazing views over the surrounding countryside from the breakfast table. We really appreciated the large selection of fresh fruit, cereals, yogurts and pastries laid out and replenished by Jeanette daily. Hosting also extended to making dinner reservations on our behalf (not so easy with a GF foodie). ||The ambiance at Labarthe always seemed comfortable. The beautiful house, views and price make this B&B so worthwhile staying, then add to that such a welcoming couple who go above and beyond confirms to us why we love staying in a B&B over a hotel.
