We were given a warm welcome but unfortunately the restaurant was closed on a Sunday evening. The room was fine and the beds comfortable. As it turned out, the position (our of town) turned out to be helpful, chiefly because there was a bad problem with one of the cycles. This was resolved thanks to a welder whose work-shop was a short ride away from the hotel. There was a cycle shop nearby too (Giant) but being a Monday, this was closed. The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful. We were able to store our cycles in a secure room in the main part of the hotel. We felt that we had received good value for money. Breakfast was good and plentiful.|||| · We arrived at this motel on a Sunday evening to find that the restaurant was closed. Read moreWe had been travelling for most of the afternoon and were really feeling pushed into a corner when we suddenly came across the Best Hotel in Mayenne just off the main road and looks more like an american motel. The receptionist was very helpful especially as we have limited french. The room rate for two people was €69, and there was secure parking and the front door is locked from 11pm-6am. The rooms have obviously recently been refurbished and were warm and welcoming with everything from kettles and coffee (rarely seen in french hotels), flat screen TV, WiFi and computer leads were also in the room. Lovely big shower in the bathroom. There is also a restaurant on site which serves evening meals and you pay according to the number of courses you want. Breakfast is also available for a further €8 per person. Very quiet rooms. A chain of hotels we will now...
Read moreWife and I stayed 3 nights as part of group weekend in Mayenne. Rooms are basic but clean and good enough; lino floor, bed firm but comfortable though only two lumpy pillows. Our room was rear ground floor which remained lovely and cool all day despite the intense 30+ degrees C heat every day. Large walk in shower but only one towel each - not great when you need a shower morning and evening after the heat.|Decent breakfast; usual continental stuff with rolls, croissants, jam, cheese, ham etc but also bacon, scrambled and boiled eggs. Staff were very welcoming and helpful - happy to find me some decaf each morning. Coffee ,tea and juice plentiful.|No bar as such but 2 beers on tap and indoor (breakfast room) and outdoor seating. We had a set meal on the first evening for about 30 people which...
