Update: now our 3rd year here and it is only getting better with upgrades to the park, a skatepark and more food offerings and other bits that make it a great choice.
Our second year in a row at this site. It's got a great beach on a very kid friendly, shallow a long way out, lake. It also has an incredible selection of swimming pools: lazy river, lengths pool (outdoor), 2 splash pools with toddler fun, 2 general pools, a wave pool/lagoon, a massive splash park with a big surprise and 4 short water slides and an outside white water slide. All very clean and great fun for kids of all ages (see the pictures). The pitches are all well kept and a decent size. Bike hire on site is very reasonable and easy to access. There is a good sized supermarket on the site (Tesco express size) and others in the nearby town. There is a range of food during the day and night, all a bit expensive but what you expect now. Big park for the kids, loads of other standard facilities etc.
Cycling in this area is amazing with dedicated routes around the lake, to the sea and between the towns. Cycle routes are actually really well thought out and well away from the roads!
Things they could improve:
The restaurant need to get new high chairs and more considering the feel is more modern and the whole site is aimed at families. These are wooden and although clean they are way past their use by date. They also need to open earlier than 7pm for evening meals. As a family with young kids 6pm would be appreciated and if you sit and watch others approach the restaurant at that time they would like it to.
Being brought a bill for drink to the table but having to pay for a food bill at the bar (at the end of your meal) is a bit odd. This seems new this year. Being left to wait at a bar to pay a bill is a very odd end to the night.
Moan over. Nothing to put anyone off, just little things.
Small things about a wonderful campsite with excellent access to Bordeaux in the distance and Biscarosse and Arcachon closer + other popular towns with plenty to see and do in the area.
Probably be back again in the future as it has everything you will want from a...
Read moreWe were there the start of June so very quiet for the first half of our stay but got busy at the end. Great waterpark for kids of most ages, maybe not the older kids. The beach is really nice and sandy. Very safe for all as not so deep. Entertainment was quite poor, very little for kids and nothing for adults. Nothing on most days. Accommodation was with Ciela Village and was very clean, modern and a very we'll equipped kitchen. Staff were friendly and helpful. The entire site was very clean and bug free which was nice. We had a car and took some trips to the Zoo and some local towns which were really nice, would recommend this. Some not so good points, you have no dishcloth and bath towels on arrival, you must rent towels. 1 toilet roll, a sachet of washing up liquid and a mini sponge are provided in your accommodation on arrival. I had to hire an Iron as no facilities were offered. It's with a different company and Ciela Village said they have no dealings with any rentals (even though they're onsite) so be aware of this. It's extremely quiet in the evenings, the only bar closes early and you can't talk while on your cabin decking area, we were hushed several times by security even though we were just talking, maybe a laugh here and there. We were a little loud once but when we were aware after 11pm you can't be too loud we were a lot quieter but still security hushed us. There's nothing for adults so at least a chat and laugh on your decking should be allowed. The restaurant had the same food for lunch and dinner so no great options and the food wasn't too good. The tapas was fine but again limited options and same menu all day. I didn't see any breakfast options. The trucks and take away options are convenient for a change but more restaurant options or a different menu would be nice. Overall if you want to entertain the kids in the waterpark, have limited food options, have no entertainment for adults and go to bed at 10pm this will suit you and your family. We were there as 7 adults and 4 kids and we all more or less...
Read moreWe are staying in the Yelloh Village La Rive in Biscarosse, France for one week in a caravan booked through Eurocamp. On the second day we sighted a couple of rats around the site and on the decking of a neighbour. Then when we arrived home earlier today at approximately 6pm we noticed rodent droppings on a shelve in our kitchen. We then contacted Eurocamp assuming we would get moved out but they didn’t offer alternative accommodation. They sent a cleaner down to set 1 trap in our caravan and that was it. I asked for it to be escalated and she said she had! We have 4 young kids and didn’t want them sleeping in these conditions so some lovely neighbours offered to keep them. Later yesterday evening we found more droppings under beds, in the cutlery drawer and under the sink. |As I write this review it is 5:30am - my wife and I are sitting in the caravan with our daughter sleeping on the room behind us. She’s been sick during the night no doubt due to rodent contamination. A mouse literally just came out of the corner of the kitchen and scuttled across the room and when I move it disappeared quickly. We have now moved to our hire car and wait til morning. |As it’s a Yelloh village site we contacted their reception too but they said it was Eurocamps problem. Eurocamp said it’s a site issue and therefore a Yelloh village problem!!! |Unreal and so disappointing for us - I honestly can’t believe Eurocamp’s lack of...
