Eco Camping l alternatif — Hotel in Montluçon

I rocked up to L'alternatif quite late after a long day riding my motorbike through the mountains of the Massif Centrale. I had no for and no water and the local shops were closed. Mayte, one of the owners, offered to cook for me or to give me some provisions so I could look after myself. Lovely. ||I stayed the night in one of the quirky caravans on site but the other choices include a yurt, a cowboy - style chuck wagon, moroccan tents and other cool off the wall choices. ||The hosts were both super friendly and relaxed, and the site, on the banks of a little river, was superb.||Cant recommend this place highly enough!||Thanks for my free...

Amazing eco friendly small green camping! When you arrive, first a warm welcome of the sweetest dog you can imagine, then also the friendly and relaxed owners welcome you. There are chickens and donkeys. The owner bake fresh bread and cake everyday and make homemade marmelade in different flavours. The best special beer from a local brewery we have had in France so far, wich you can drink in a cozy bar. You pay for the food on donation. Beautiful built ecotoilet and warm showers. You can play handpan, pingpong, darts or swim in a small pool. We have had a perfect time...

Je rentre d'une semaine de randonnée à pied sur le "Sentier des Maîtres Sonneurs" en autonomie complète. Mais en passant à Huriel, j'ai eu une comme l'intuition de devoir m'y arrêter. Et j'ai vraiment bien fait ! On n'est pas accueilli comme des clients mais comme des amis. Tout s'organise autour du bar, que ce soit pour l'accueil irréprochable, pour le repas, les discussions. Maïté et Seb, les propriétaires des lieux, sont des gens adorables et cela m'a fait un bien fou, sincèrement. Et je les remercie encore une fois, ils se plient vraiment en 4 pour satisfaire les clients. J'ai eu droit à la cabane perchée et j'en suis vraiment content car je n'avais rien réservé, je suis vraiment arrivé à l'improviste comme une fleur. Ce camping, c'est comme si c'était une étape INDISPENSABLE et OBLIGATOIRE de mon périple, sans aucunement le dénaturer. Donc je recommande vivement cet arrêt, entre autres, aux randonneurs comme moi. On y trouve de quoi bien sûr y dormir très confortablement, des douches chaudes (extra après 4 jours de marche), de quoi manger le soir (terrines et fromages locaux ) et le matin (le gâteau maison et les gelées d'orties et de pissenlit sont à tomber), de quoi boire (ahhh la bière ambrée locale, j'en ai encore la saveur dans la bouche). Tout est très propre, bien entretenu, tout est en accord, en harmonie. Le camping porte bien son nom, et il prouve que l'on peut proposer du confort et de la convivialité en sortant du stéréotype des campings habituels. Un seul mot : MERCI ! Thierry...
