My family and I were attending a track day at the Val De Vienne circuit where this hotel is located. We arrived at 14:30 and having received an email with the door code and that our room card would be left in reception area we, parked in the "secure car park" and tried the door code on the closest door, which looked like a rear entrance to the hotel, after two attempts the door opened from someone on the inside, a blonde lady speaking no English whatsoever, but was apparently was nonplussed at our attempts at entering the hotel through this door, shouting at us and directing us the the front door, when we walked there she was standing in the door arms crossed shouting at us again in french apparently telling us the rooms were not ready until 5pm. ||||After attempting to ask this extremely rude young woman if we could maybe check-in a little earlier she repeatedly shouted "non" at us, I asked if anyone spoke english, she stormed off and another lady appeared who spoken english and agreed that we could get into the room at 4pm.||||Upon returning we realised that this is a receptionless hotel, all key cards are simply left on a counter with your name on, very strange, not very secure method of getting your room (someone could take your room's card before your arrival, remove items leaving you to blame and stump up fees for missing towels, remote controls etc).||||Obviously if the keycard isn't working or stops working then you are completely out of luck, as happened to one of the residents we were travelling with us, the phone number on the back of the card was not answered, we went and spoke to the security staff at the circuit who also tried to call the hotels owners to no avail, in the end he was able to break into the hotel room, otherwise he would have had to sleep in our room with me, my wife and two children.||||WiFi at the hotel and the circuit was absolutely dreadful, at first you could log in but only for an hour the login screen said, however this turned out to be incorrect as after 10 minutes of use, or simply locking your phone meant you had to complete a new application, which became tedious, however not as tedious as when the internet completely stopped working the next morning.||||The hotel really need to have a word with "angry blonde woman" as she was working on the breakfast/reception desk the next morning, when I asked if we had breakfast included in the room price (as I couldn't remember if I had booked that) she started shouting at me again, in the end I told her to shove her breakfast up her ar*e and walked off, we drove the 5 miles to the nearest supermarket and bought food for breakfast for the 2 days of our stay.||||There is no staff at the hotel after 2pm, so no restaurant, bar etc.||||It's a real shame the issues we experienced as the rooms are fantastic, with some rooms with balcony/patio overlooking the first corner of the race circuit, rooms are brilliant and a really nice communal patio area to chill out after a hard days riding on track (with the beers/wine you have bought from the supermarket).||||Would I stay at the hotel again ? maybe if the "angry blonde woman" is still employed there, definitely...
