Our stay started with the warmest of welcomes. Our rooms were very spacious and elegantly furnished at the top of a lovely spiral staircase. Holding the handrail on the way down is recommended. The climb is well worth the effort. The chateau is in a large quiet, calm estate. Being able to swim in the lovely pool after a day travelling was extra special. The breakfast was a delicious start to our day, served in the beautiful ground floor hall. Read moreStayed at Chateau de Cauderou a couple nights late September as it's close to a wedding we attended in Poudenas. We had a truly wonderful time. It was a unique experience and the chateau is set in a lovely area, overlooking fields and gardens. The proprietor, Carol, is warm, friendly and kind. She arranged transportation to the town of Nerac for us to have dinner the day we arrived. (I guess most visitors have cars, duh). Read more😊: A driveway lined with Atlas Cedars lead to this attractive Chateau. We parked our bicycles under a tree for the night in the garden. Our room was huge, with a tiled floor and included a statue of St Michel slaying the dragon, a stag's head and other similar artifacts. We brought a picnic with us and ate our supper on the on the terrace. In the morning our delightful and relaxed host served us a delicious breakfast and showed us the pottery she makes.
