Our recent stay at Le Grand Dague, run by Sandaya, was quite disappointing, and unfortunately, I cannot recommend this campsite based on our experience. Despite its advertised 5-star status, our stay was marred by numerous issues that detracted from our holiday.||Firstly, we received an email from Sandaya and All Camps notifying us that our pitch had water. However, upon arrival, we found this information to be incorrect. Instead, we were handed four 10L empty jerry cans to fill from the toilet block, which only provided warm water. Shockingly, there was no access to cold drinking water to fill your water barrel.||The nearest toilet block was 100 meters away from our pitch, and it lacked a proper tap for filling water barrels. We had to resort to pushing our own pipe onto a warm water tap, an inconvenient and inefficient solution.||Our peace was further disturbed by another guest who complained about our toddler having a tantrum, his first in months, due to overtiredness after our travel. This occurred around 9am, a reasonable hour, yet we faced unnecessary hostility.||The campsite itself was excessively crowded. The pool area, in particular, was dangerously overcrowded, exacerbated by the allowance of floats, posing a significant safety risk for children.||Another unsettling experience was being disturbed at 7:50am by a woman asking us to quiet our children, who had just woken up at 7:30am and were merely talking. Yet, the same consideration was not extended to us in the evenings, as loud music blasted until 10pm, despite our children going to bed early.||The campsite's layout is cramped, with pitches packed closely together, making it the smallest and most crowded campsite we have ever visited. This overcrowding severely impacts the overall experience, making it far from the advertised 5-star quality.||Moreover, the WiFi service was misleading and inadequate. The advertised family pass for €25, supposedly covering three devices for two weeks, was nonexistent. Instead, we were only provided with a single pass, and even that had poor connectivity, making streaming videos difficult.||Basic amenities were also lacking. The hairdryer in the shower block was broken, there was no tap to fill up water barrels conveniently, and the only available option was a warm water sink intended for washing pots. Additionally, there was no designated place to empty grey caravan waste.||The facilities for emptying toilet waste were substandard, with no hose provided at the designated area in the shower block. While I eventually found one near the water barrel filling area, this should have been a standard provision.||In summary, Le Grand Dague falls significantly short of its advertised 5-star status, feeling more like a 3-star campsite at best. The numerous inconveniences, overcrowding, and lack of basic amenities made our stay far less enjoyable than anticipated. I hope Sandaya takes these issues seriously and makes necessary improvements for...

A real punishment for all parents. that have to pay 1750 to 2000 euro a week for a caravan 4 to 6 people||||the nice pool is calculated for a 1000 people . Problem is there are 2000 people on the site! The management of Sayady quickly build as much caravans as possible but forgot to bring the beds chairs. and all other facilities. Read moreStayed as a family with our 5 and 8 year old, and with our friends and their son (also 8).||We have stayed with Sandaya before at La Ranolien so had high expectations. ||Accommodation was as expected, clean and functional.||Campsite had superb pools for kids, lots of shallow pools with a pirate ship, spray guns, there is only one heated pool (which on cooler days gets very busy) but if the weather is hot, you will be welcome of the cooler pools. Crazy river ride and other water slides which the kids absolutely loved!||There is a kids club from 5 years and up for 2 hours (10-12 noon and 3-5pm Mon-Fri)(only morning on a Thursday!) which is great and the staff (Dowey and Dearsha) were fantastic with my kids. They also took them to the pool and played games which meant that we could have a day ‘off’ pool activity!||Not sure the Sandaya app accurately explains the kids club set up. So you are better checking direct with reception.||Bar area has a ‘soft play’ which means you can play buy a drink while the kids play. The evening kids disco was also a big hit with our kids and again the kids club staff put lots of effort with their performances.||The only problem with this campsite which lets it down is the food / bar offering. Which is a real shame as it could be an absolute goldmine if this was improved. You are honestly quicker going to the shop on site to buy drinks for your kids than you are waiting at the bar. My friend (almost) got served a Prosecco in a tumbler, until her husband intervened(!) I just don’t think the staff have been trained on how to serve customers.||The food in the restaurant is average. Service is slow. But not because I think the staff are incapable. It feels like they need another chef in the kitchen and a bit of staff training which would make all the difference. My husband ordered prawn risotto which honestly looked like rice pudding. It took over an hour for us to order our food after our drinks arrived.||Campsite shop is good, all the basics and of course plentiful...
