Lovely rural BnB in an old water mill. Loved listening to the sound of the river and the frogs and birds. Saw beautiful blue dragonflies and kingfisher birds. Very peaceful. Accomodation was very generous in size and furnished with some lovely pieces. ||We spent all 5 nights on our vine covered terrace for dinner. Anita cooked magnificent food - 3 course meal served directly to us. We ordered this for 2 nights and the other 3 we cooked local meat and vegetables and ate bread, ham, cheese ect from the local shops. ||Breakfast was very substantial and supplied in a wicker basket each morning with white linen. Attention to detail from Anita was very good.||We were unfortunately there in a heat wave but Anita supplied some fans however it did hamper us in our daily travels around the area. ||Massages from Anita were very good and welcome at the end of a hot day .||We did however miss being able to access the internet from the apartments ( it is available in the studio on the property) We use the internet for researching where we are currently travelling in for maps, restaurants ,tourist attractions etc and also as we are keen photographers we upload a lot of our photos on a daily basis. Our 90 year old mother also likes a Skype call from us! We were able to achieve these a few times but being able to do so from the comfort of our bed or terrace especially in the heat would have been more relaxing.||||Otherwise an excellent and highly recommended property to stay at. ||||Thanks Anita and Simon - well done on your hard work and achievements in restoring this beautiful property.||||Sonya and...
Read moreMy wife and I stayed at Le Moulin de Larcy while we were in the Dordogne for a wedding. Without exception, everything about our stay exceeded our expectations.||||“Our apartment” (Melisse) was perfect....spacious (living room, full kitchen, outside terrace, master bedroom with ensuite bath, powder room) as well as thoughtfully designed, well appointed, tastefully decorated and fully equipped. It quickly became our haven in between a full long weekend of wedding activities.||||But that’s not all. We enjoyed a wonderful welcoming dinner at Le Moulin, deliciously prepared with vegetables from the garden and local specialties. Every morning, we were welcomed with a basket outside our door, filled with fresh garden juices, fruits, baguettes and croissants straight from the market, fresh eggs from the Moulin’s hens....as well as amazing preserves prepared on the property.||||The perfection at Le Moulin de Larcy is a testament to its hosts (and owners), Anita and Simon Black, a gracious and most interesting couple originally from South Africa. They responded to any number of requests we had and treated us like visiting friends...maybe better. Anita’s focus on wellness in life combined with Simon’s flair for design combine to make Le Moulin far more than a lovely and charming place to stay.....it’s a top drawer experience in its own right.||||We travel extensively, staying in a wide variety of accommodations, from top luxury hotels to charming inns in remote locations. Anita and Simon have created a relaxing hideaway....one that is decidedly FIVE STARS...
