What an absolutely stunning place to stay and explore the area around Albert and the Somme. Dominique and Catherine were the perfect hosts, they could not have done more for us. We arrived on motorcycles, soaking wet, having ridden for hours in the rain. They welcomed us into thier home, offering hot drinks or beer, even offering to drive us to Albert for something to eat in the evening. We were shown to our rooms which were large and really nice. The rooms aren't en-suite, but not a problem as they will only rent rooms to guests who are friends or family. We sat drinking with them on the beautiful terrace in the evening. Just perfect. Read moreA lovely welcome from Dominique and his sister. The history of the house and surrounding area is fascinating. Dominique was very welcoming and his good English enabled us to learn a lot. We were able to walk our dog in surrounding areas then leave her to sleep in the room as we visited the Somme museum. We returned and shared a beer with Dominique then off again to see the war graves and memorials. Dominique and Catherine offered us drinks, chatted to us and helped us find a restaurant. The next morning they gave us breakfast with homemade cakes, and a packed lunch for the car journey.
