Liked: Variety of pitches with shade options. Lovely pool that wasn’t too cold. Fairly peaceful area (with exception of barge loading on one day which was noisy and threw up a lot of dust all day!)
Located on the Somme bike route with immediate access onto the canal tow path so ideal for cyclists looking for overnight stop and for short family rides up and down the canal.
Bar, small shop (icreams etc) and Friterie on site but quite expensive. Pizza self service machine across the road. Lidl 5 minutes away by bike using dedicated cycle path on the road.
Good kids play park Bathroom facilities clean. Washer available (about €5) Friendly reception staff. Free wifi near the bar but it is very slow
Disliked: We ordered the bread and pastries on one day but they were overdone and stale. Walk up to Lidl for fresh and cheaper alternative.
No soap provided in bathroom - I know this is common in French campsites (yuck!) but with covid still being a risk you would think something as simple as soap would...
Read moreReception open from 0700 - 1000 & 1500 - 2200. When reception is closed you can select your pitch, and register when open. Pleasant friendly welcome at reception, English is spoken, and where you can order bread for the next day. Facilities are Ok, beginning to show there age but functional and clean. A nice bar and take away with a small swimming pool. We were there in June and the site would fill up in the afternoon with one-night stopovers, but worth staying longer to explore the town & area. On the banks of the Nord Canal, background noise from the cement distribution plant on the opposite bank. There is a long distance cycleway along the towpath of the Canal de la Somme. Very poorly signposted from the main road, if you turn left out of the camp entrance (no vehicle entry sign) cycle down to the towpath turn right and onto towpath, very poor track surface under the road bridge, it does improve but generally the track is of a poor quality compared to other cycle...
Read more2nd time here, we really like it. People who run it are helpful, kind and very friendly. Trees, flowers and layout lovely, quite large amount of emplacements. Used pool last time, really nice, this time closed, which is understandable as it's low season and chilly. Didn't have to cook or wash up as a frites/snack van comes around, so that was nice. Village a few mins cycle away, has bars, eating places and is pretty. River runs next to site, canal the other side, though canal is industrialised. Nice atmosphere and love that you can choose your pitch. Bar is cute. We will continue using this site. Full of goodwill, pretty and friendly. Close to ports, tunnel, lovely and quiet at night, great security. It's a little gem. On our 6th or 7th visit, ...
