We stayed for a week in November and had a lovely break. The accommodation is of a very high standard with all you could possibly require, including a roaring log burner and plenty of logs. Just what you need after a day exploring the area. Don't just think of staying in summer, the area in autumn is stunning. The amazing colours of all the leaves on the trees and the vines are awesome. Fair enough the pool is closed but the quieter roads and tourist attractions by far make up for it. We visited Carcassonne which wasn't busy so we were able to really appreciate the true history of this incredible site. The local market in Mirepoix is a must, delicious meats, cheeses, fruit and vegetables. Also, we took time to explore local villages with their old buildings and churches. We had a day driving through the amazing scenery to Andorra, not to be missed. Vicky and Jon could not have been more accommodating hosts and we loved their two friendly cats 🐈🐈‍⬛. A great place for a winter break, ideal with cheaper flight prices to nearby Carcassonne.

Just returned from a wonderful 2 weeks in September staying at Jon & Vicky Rankin’s magnificent Gites in Mirepoix. The Farmhouse and Grange in which we stayed were spacious, very well equipped and extremely comfortable. The pool area and grounds were beautiful with views across to the Pyrenees with plenty of recliner beds and Sunbrellas to provide shade if needed. The nearby 12th Century Town of Mirepoix was delightful and picturesque and a lovely Market each Monday morning. The location is well placed to visit the surrounding areas including Carcasonne, The Pyrenees, Albi, and Toulouse and we had one of the best Holidays we have ever had. Jon and Vicky were very welcoming and ensured we had the very best time. Thank you to you both! Jenny Martin

I have just returned from a great 2 week Family Holiday in Pouroutounat with a group of 17 family and friends to celebrate a Joint 60th Birthday and our Ruby Wedding Anniversary. We all had an incredible time and I could not recommend Jon & Vicky and their lovely Gites more.

A perfect location, a short distance from the beautiful medieval town of Mirepoix. A quiet, idyllic rural location that is looked after beautifully by the owners Jon and Vicky. The two properties are of a very high standard and are equipped with everything you need for an enjoyable stay and they provide all the kitchen equipment required to make large family meals. The bedrooms are large and have comfortable beds and high quality linen which is changed every week. The swimming pool is a real asset that is regularly cleaned and maintained and is in a beautiful setting, we regularly saw deer in the adjoining field and beautiful sunsets. There were lots of equipment provided such as table tennis, badminton, football nets and archery. The owners have excellent local knowledge and can provide advice on the best restaurants, which they are happy to book for you and the best places to visit and ensure that they do everything they can to make your stay a wonderful one. They provide excellent customer service and I recommend Domaine de...

Domaine de Pouroutounat is a fantastic place for a family holiday. Thank you Jon and Vicky for providing us with a lovely house, and great pool for our family of 18. It was a special place for us to stay with our children and grandchildren......terrific location close to Mirepoix, Carcassonne and the swimming lakes and mountains of the Pyrenees. The 'professional' cyclists of the family really enjoyed the challenging early morning rides in the vicinity and we all enjoyed the late night family meals around the table.

Jon and Vicky were exceptional in their welcome; always available but never intrusive, and treated us as friends come to visit rather than clients. the facilities were first class; comfy beds, multiple bathrooms, numerous places for kids and adults to gather separately and together. The pool house provided necessary shade and drinks in the two fridges, and was the most popular place to meet.....one of the best family holidays we have had of the seven we have been on all over Europe in the last...
