We used this hotel as a stop over from Calais down to Murcia; really great location and easy to find. The hotel rooms are basic by UK standards & could do with an update in terms of painting etc! However this family run business offers exceptional hospitality. While my French is very poor, they made every effort to speak slowly & when possible speak a little Spanish (which I do speak/understand.) We had a great evening meal & the restaurant was packed with local people & other holiday makers.||The hotel has a decent outside swimming pool (a must in our case with a 12 year old regardless of the time of day!) ||We had a whistle stop tour of Pamiers the next morning, a really lovely town & the people we spoke with were very welcoming.||The rates we paid were as follows;- Room for 2 adults + 12 year old €61 & a double for my daughter/husband €49, breakfast (plenty of choice) €7 per head. We spent about another €50 on dinner including drinks (we had a few glasses of vino on arrival included in that amount.) ||Would i stay here again?- yes most definitely, was it fun? yes a good atmosphere - great stop over for families & couples alike just look beyond decor in the...
Read moreBeware – This Hotel is a Scam I traveled all the way from Spain, exhausted after hours and hours on the road, and arrived at the hotel around 9 PM on July 14th, looking forward to finally resting. To my shock, the hotel was completely shut down — the doors were locked, the lights were off, the shutters were down, and there was no one around. It was like a ghost town.
I had already paid £34.50 in advance through Expedia for one night, but upon arrival, I found the place totally closed with no way to check in. I tried contacting the hotel through Expedia multiple times, but they refused to refund my money.
The next day, I received a password via SMS from the hotel — completely useless at that point, since I only needed access on the night of July 14th when I arrived, not the following day.
This experience was incredibly frustrating. Not only was the hotel closed without notice, but they still charged me and offered no support or refund. This feels like a scam. Please be careful and double-check before booking — I wouldn’t want anyone else to go...
Read moreWe ended up at Hotel La Rocade after being dropped off in the middle of the night in the town of Pamiers due to engine trouble. Not speaking French can be quite challenging when you're looking for a hotel and a taxi, but the owner's daughter at this hotel was truly a lifesaver. She spoke excellent English and was incredibly kind and helpful. Even though the reception was closed, she made sure we got a room and provided us with other practical information. The manager and staff at this hotel are friendly, the rooms are neat and clean, and the restaurant offers a pleasant dining experience. In short, what could have been a stressful turn of events on our way back home turned out to be a surprisingly...
