I recently spent a fantastic week at L'Impasse du Temple and it was one of the most enjoyable and relaxing experiences I have had in a long time. Everything is top notch and comfortable in the superbly renovated buildings. John and Lee-anne are welcoming and knowledgeable hosts who work tirelessly to make sure every detail is attended to, from the exquisite gourmet meals that Lee-Anne prepares, to the crisp linens on the beds, and not forgetting the beautiful pool around back, which is great to relax around after a full day of taking in the sights and rolling country-side of this historic region. ||||The location is well positioned for day trips to any number of activities and sites, such as the Cave of Niaux, Carcassone or bustling markets in nearby towns such as Mirepoix and Chalabre.||||The main building is well-appointed with many comfortable rooms as well as central dining areas (both in and out of doors), and the gite across the lane is a gem that is perfect for a family or small group of friends on a holiday retreat. While there is no restaurant per se, you can make arrangements with Lee-Anne to provide meals ... she is an artiste in her own right in the kitchen, preparing dishes that are reflective of the region and presented with imagination and flair. She is also able to accommodate a variety of dietary restrictions and preferences. ||||Whatever the occasion I would highly recommend L'Impasse du Temple for your next trip to Occitanie. Léran is an inviting little town, and is great to explore by foot or bicycle, with beautiful rural vistas complete with sheep and donkeys just a short walk away. Whether you are travelling solo, or with a family or group, be sure to make this your destination. John and Lee-Anne are there to help make your stay a wonderful and...
Read moreTo call this family run a B&B does it an injustice. Lee-anne and John Furness are perfect hosts where nothing is too much trouble. The room we stayed is was large and airy with an equally large bathroom ensuite. All decorated in the French style with a twist. Breakfast is continental but plentiful and we were fortunate to be there for the rhubarb season - the most fabulous rhubarb compote we have tasted.||We ordered an evening meal the likes of which will go into our family travels best meals eaten book. Lee-anne is an excellent cook and the food was superb as was the wine. ||The garden is peaceful with seats in the sunshine or the shade and a good sized swimming pool, with plentiful loungers. ||We totally recommend L’Impasse du Temple and will definitely be returning.||Next time we will have our own car, which is rather necessary because public transport seems non existent and taxis need booking in advance. Thanks you John and Lee-anne for looking after us so well and making us feel welcome. Aurevoir. Abiento. Julie and Ray. I haven’t been able to enter a score for service - it was excellent! It was great value for money and...
Read moreWe stayed one night on a Midi-Pyrenees bike tour. I would like to echo with many others have stated. Cool town, cool accommodation and the best hosts imaginable.
