The Sweet Wood Castle Dwelling — Hotel in Poitiers

No dinner as agreed, were led into a 150 euro family suite when we had agreed a single bedroom for two at 90 euros and ended up paying 120 euros through politeness, no shower as specifically requested, water cold even after running a full bath, no light bulb in my bedside light, no wifi as understood, limp microwaved halved croissant and out of date separated yoghurt for breakfast!!! After asking for a recommendation for a local dinner to drive out to after a long day travelling we were sent to the Lion d'Or, Chevigny where the food was tasteless and yet not inexpensive - our worst dinner in France for some time.||Beautiful location and setting but direly lacking...

We were looked after by the delightful French owner who loved chatting. The rooms were basic, very French, full of character. We had booked a family room and a double.
