Merlin (restaurant, repas groupe, Terrasse Snack vente à emporter, camping, pédalos & canoés) — Hotel in Pontivy

We dined at Merlins last year on my birthday and - whilst more expensive than other local restaurants - enjoyed our meal. The experience this time was sadly different- the low points being my starter of charcuterie being served on a hot plate (that warmed the meats and pate) and then my wifes blue steak being served overcooked and with just a pile of cauliflower to accompany it. I am not sure why 2 small balls of ice cream should be 6.5 euros either! At the price I really expected much better. We enjoyed the location, which is stunning, and the time with our friends but would have to be certain of a much better experience before going again. It was very quiet so perhaps just an off...

This restaurant has everything that you need! The staff is super friendly, its setting at the lake just amazing, the deco cosy and stylish and the organic homemade meals are a dream come true! We had several lunch and dinner meals during our visit to the lake-area and were very impressed! Price/quality a perfect deal and they cater for all budgets. The kids meals are great as well as the homemade pizzas. The organic 3 course meal for 17,50 was so delicious as well as the moules frites! Called into restaurant on a lovely sunny afternoon after looking for some where to get a coffee and possibly something to eat. Even though the restaurant had closed for the afternoon they very kindly offered to cook us a pizza each which was delicious. The waiter was very helpful advising us on dessert in broken English and helping us with our broken french. Will definitely return on our next visit...
