Les Chambres du Clair nests beautifully on a plateau overlooking the magnificent view of the mountains on the horizon. An atmosphere of peace and tranquility envelops you as you enter the place. You might find the dogs welcoming you as enthusiastically as the hosts. They, too, enjoy having guests in the house. The woods adjacent to the house is a fitting place to unwind; to take short or long walks with or without company. Chestnuts are abundant in these woods and chestnut-based food and drinks are very much present in Martine’s cuisine. Ardeche is so rich in breathtaking nature, culture and history and Martine and Jean-Paul would share generously their knowledge of this region (and France in general) if you want to. About food: Martine’s food is simply mouth watering whether it be meat, fish or vegetarian dishes - or desserts! One has to try because it’s not easy to describe. The garden provides with fruits, herbs and vegetables. The freshness of the ingredients are a delight to the tastebuds. The rooms are nice and cozy with beautiful interiors that immediately put you in a homely atmosphere like the rest of the house. Les Chambres du Clair is a little corner of paradise nestled in the Ardèche mountains north of Privas. We love the quiet and the incredible views of the receding ranges of mountains. Martine and Jean-Paul are splendid hosts, who speak English and Spanish. Martine is a superb cook, too. She is inventive while also focusing on local Ardèche products. She is also very willing and helpful in preparing delicious meals for people who have dietary restrictions. The bedrooms are tastefully decorated and comfortable. Une rencontre MERVEILLEUSE dans un coin de paradis perdu en Ardèche avec deux anges Martine et J-Paul et leurs 4 pattes Mia, Muscade et leurs 3 minous (sans oublier la poulette) ! Des instants MAGIQUES de partage et d'amitié dans un paysage de rêve.... ! Une cuisinière hors-pair, pour ne pas nommer Martine... que des produits locaux et du jardin...un régal pour les papilles !!! BRAVO également à sa tendre moitié J-Paul pour l'intendance. Tous deux n'ont qu'un seul but : partager et donner du Bonheur ! Tout était PARFAIT ! Aucune fausse note ! Il est des lieux où l'on perd ses repères. Situé en pleine nature, cette chambre d'hôte a été restaurée avec passion et Amour. Quand on arrive aux Chambres du Clair, on ne ressent qu'une envie... c'est d'y rester !. Martine et J-Paul MERCI DE TOUT COEUR d'avoir autant partagé avec nous ! Merci aussi à Lili Marguerite, votre petite-fille qui a beaucoup marqué l'esprit notre fille Maya ! Vous êtes des personnes exceptionnelles ! Votre maison est la maison du BONHEUR. Vous faites partie de ces personnes qui ont compris que chaque jour qui se lève est un cadeau du Ciel ... et le début d'une belle histoire ! Merci aussi d'avoir accueilli notre Canelle (notre dogue de bordeaux) avec autant d'affection ! Elle a été traitée comme une reine ! Nous sommes partis en vacances pour découvrir la région de l'Ardèche qui nous a d'ailleurs dévoilé des coins extraordinaires et nous sommes repartis avec plein de bons souvenirs et de nouveaux amis Martine et J-Paul !!!!
