The site is well laid out with a mix of static and touring units. All pitches have 10A hookup using either French domestic plugs or UK style 16A plugs. The site can provide converters if needed.
The site staff were all friendly and speak French and English. Entertainment is laid on by the site most evenings. The pool and slides were fantastic. The restaurant a bit expensive for the quality, but acceptable if you can't be bothered to cook.
The evening entertainment is a mix from magicians to singers, and everything we saw was bilingual. A kids club runs every morning for under 10's. All this is included in the price.
Toilet and shower facilities were modern and regularly cleaned.
Bikes are a must in my opinion for this site. There are miles of flat cycle route straight from the site all suitable for children as they are mostly off road, or on really quiet lanes and access to the many beautiful sandy beaches (some of which aren't accessible by car so are really quiet even on the hottest days) is really easy using them. Bikes can also be hired from the site for around 7euros.
The site advertises free wifi, but this is limited to 100mb per day, and can only be picked up in the bar/restaurant area, and with wifi hotspots seeming to be quite rare in France, if your internet hungry you'll need a good amount of mobile data on your phone.
The site was frequented by mainly French, English, and Dutch families and our 6 year old made friends with other children easily despite not understanding a word her friends said!
The locality provides many towns to visit with local markets most days. There are lots of local attractions too, most of which cater for English speaking visitors, and no visit to this site should end without a visit to the local cider farm. The site organise a cycle ride to here once a week.
If I had to find anything bad about this site, it would be that the pitches are not quite big enough for twin axle vans to manoeuvre unless you have a motor mover (or 10 willing campers to help push you – thank you to all that helped us)
Would we return? Yes. We stayed for 11 nights and only saw a fraction of what the area has to offer, and with the friendly staff and visitors it made for a...
Read moreStayed 9 nights on a caravan pitch - visited August 2024.
Pitch was more or less level with shared water and EHU. Lots of hedge screening. Hottest washing up water EVER! Toilet block toilets were modern but not cleanest. Showers were good - not all had own temperature adjustment so check first. Never a queue and lots of hot water.
Some of the older pitches at the top of the site would be very difficult to access or too small for large caravans. Ours is 7.15m and just fit in, we had to change from original pitch as we couldn't access it as it was too tight. More accessible pitches further down site but didn't have hedge screening between them.
Mix of casual and seasonal camping pitches plus mobile home rentals and privately owned mobile homes. Mostly French guests - but we're ok with that.
Small snack bar with limited menu - set choice per night - but always Frites (very good frites they were too!) Small bar. Very quiet at night - family entertainment (all in French) for a couple of eves - not every night - finished by 11pm - our kids joined in regardless.
Small shop on site but limited stock/opening times.
Great pool, lots of sunbeds. Big slide was too much for me but the kids loved it!
Excellent location - 5 min bike ride to the nearest beach. 4 min drive to good sized SuperU Express in Fouesnant, 10 mins drive to MASSIVE e.LeClerc hypermarket. 20 min drive to Benodet and 20 min drive in opposite direction to Concarneau.
Lots of cycling opportunities for all abilities including traffic free cycle paths.
Huge amounts of social activities going on in the Fouesnant area - from outdoor cinema once a week to joining in Breton circle dancing in the town, fireworks at multiple locations - felt like almost every night and all FREE!
As ever in France, all free parking at the beach but can be tricky to get a space esp on a Sunday and weather is good.
Stunning sunsets at Mousterlin Point. A beautiful area with very welcoming locals.
Can't wait to visit again as we didn't manage to do as much as we wanted -...
Read moreA beautiful site in a stunning area. Although apparently a little off the beaten track, (navigating the small roads without a Sat Nav would have been a bit of a challenge!). However a stunning beach is within about a 25 minute walk from the bottom of the site, through a nature reserve.||We visited in early June and the site was very quiet. The bar/ restaurant and shop was closed which was expected and there were no activities, but the indoor and outdoor pools were open.||The toilets and facilities are shared but are modern and spotlessly clean and the site itself was very well maintained - a tribute to the owners! The staff were extremely polite, friendly and helpful.||I should imagine that the site has plenty of regular clientele, who enjoy the site and location immensely||The area is stunningly beautiful with 25 kms of golden sands between Benodet and Concarneau, both of which are within about 25 minutes drive. Even closer are Beg Meil and Cap Coz which are both within the Fouesnant area. The beautiful city of Quimper is also within easy reach. ||Unfortunately, there are no shops within walking distance, which could be a slight inconvenience when the site shop is closed, but there is an enormous Leclerc in Fouesnant on the...
