First the good points. Good location - easy walking distance to good beaches and the lovely port town of Concarneau. Great pool - very clean with good sun beds and a cracking view across the bay. Nice restaurant at reasonable prices. Good pitches for motor-homes and good toilets/showers. Two bad things though. Lots of noisy dogs that set up a row every time someone passes. Management should monitor this and make it clear that only quiet, well trained dogs will be welcome. And please, no dogs in the restaurant; there were 8 in there the night we were in, yelping at each other and kicking off. |But by far the worst thing was that although we booked for 3 nights and paid in advance (as was required), we had to leave a day early. They would not refund the 3rd night (even though we left early in the morning so they could have re-let the pitch). They said it was because we did not "take out refund insurance" but this was not mentioned to us when we booked on the 'phone. Quite frankly...
Read moreThis site isn't appropriate for real campers (by that I mean people who walk or cycle, and therefore travel light with the strict necessary on their backs or racks). No picnic tables, no secured store room for bicycles, no line for hanging the daily laundry, no chill-out room where one can relax, check emails and weather forecasts, and exchange tips about their traveling experience. For 22.55€ to pitch a tent, one get none of that. Instead, one find an area densily packed with vans, caravans, camping cars and motor homes. One also find a swimming pool and jacuzzi, an on-site restaurant where patrons get a pizza for 14€ a pop. Wifi is free, but slow. Last, I leave aside the very stressed lady at the reception, the fact you must give your credit card number for booking by phone. In short, avoid this...
Read moreA good base camp. We had a lot of rain which left the pitch with puddles and mud. Size of pitch was good and sheltered by trees and bushes. Only problem was a lot of wasps in the trees next to our pitch No 82. The site is quiet and has has keypad access for vehicles. It is about a 20 minute walk into the centre of town and just a few minutes to the beach. There is no on-site shop so supplies are limited. The restaurant looked good but we did not use as other campers said it was quite expensive. Would we stay again? yes. We used it as a stopover for a few days having spent a week further south and were heading back to Roscoff, a drive of just under 2 hours...
