Liked: We arrive about 12noon (arrivals are from 12) and whilst reception was closed at that time, they leave your pitch details on the door, so we were able to settle in. The pitches themselves all look pretty flat but some are closer together than others. The site was lovely and quiet in the evenings, even though it was fully booked during our stay. Due to the time of year though, the demand on the toilets and showers often exceeded supply and we had to queue for the loo and showers a few times.
The toilets and showers (both unisex) are cleaned daily. Water was always nice and hot.
There is a daily bread/pastry delivery, but make sure you add your name to the list by the specified time.
In the height of summer they have visiting good vans(Mon, Tues, Thurs I think) - 1) mussels/frites, 2) burger style van 3) crepes (these were lovely, but be prepared for a wait -he's popular).
There's mention of a shop (in reception) but I wouldn't recommend relying on this for your essentials - make sure to stock up before you get there! (It's also only open during reception hours, so you're out of luck if you wanted an ice cream between about 10.30 and 16.00!)
The location is great - about 10mins walk is one of the loveliest beaches I've been to. Sandy, clear water and really big. Even on a weekend in August it didn't feel overcrowded!
Disliked: Queuing for the toilet (although this was in August, when the site was...
Read moreLiked: What a great camp site! From a warm welcome upon arrival through the 5 nights on site, we enjoyed the site tremendously. Level private pitches, excellent electric hook up (no issues with power), basic but always very clean shower/toilet block/wash up area. Quiet during our stay (kids were back at school) and mainly older campers. 500m to the beach which has a great walk/bike board walk if you want to stroll to the nearby towns or plenty of access through the dunes to the beaches - decent rollers and breakers when we stayed and looks like a great venue for kite/wind surfers. A quality crĂȘperie was on site on Tuesday from 6pm to 9pm which was very popular but worth the wait! The onsite pool looked well maintained and even a sauna which you can pay to use. Plenty of amenities close by for a short car/van journey if you need supplies.
Disliked: Little to dislike at this site - remember to take your own toilet roll as per the usual French way but that...
Read moreThis campsite is absolutely perfect for couples seeking peace and tranquility in a beautiful setting near the ocean. The hosts, Muriel, Fabian, Cecile and family are so friendly and welcoming and work incredibly hard to keep the whole site clean, well preserved and eco-friendly. The poole is an added bonus!|Although mainly catering for motor homes, the tent pitch was well kept and level offering complete privacy and shade.|As we were not there in high season it's difficult to gauge how busy it would get once school holidays began.|The lovely white sand beach is a short walk away and paths through the dunes lead to Lesconil one way and Guinevec the other where there are (pretty expensive) restaurants and cafes. The site also has food vans visiting a couple of times a week.|A large supermarket is a short drive away and baguette, croissante etc. can be ordered daily...
