With over 700 caravans then this I suppose a medium sized static caravan site. Two hours drive from St Malo or about four from Cherbourg or Caen. We've stayed at two other Siblu sites a number of times so as expected it is very clean and offers a high standard of facilities. These include free kids clubs broken into age groups, a restaurant, a takeaway, on site shop plus lots of scheduled activities. As with other Siblu sites then the majority of site visitors are French with some British and Irish. Siblu I believe used to be part of Haven. This really doesn't matter but it might encourage you to try your french a bit more. It has three pools offering a section for various levels of proficiency. One is indoors too for cooler Brittany days. There are a couple of slides but these are fairly tame so intended for younger children rather than teenagers. There is a good multi-sport pitch where people play football and basketball. This is very popular with teenagers. There are also tennis and badminton courts. In the evening there are shows put on by the entertainment staff and although not "west end" performances they are still pretty good. There is plenty of cover too in case of poor weather. Everything finishes by about 11.00 so no music into the night if you have very young children. The town of Pont Aven is about a 10 minute drive and offers plenty of places to eat. There is also a nearer smaller town called Nevez which also has restaurants and a decent sized Intermarche supermarket and petrol station. There are also plenty of clean empty beaches nearby. You can pick up 4G on site but not all the time. Probably depends on how many phones are trying to access it. So if you want a better signal then you can purchase Wifi access online when you arrive. Either basic or higher level streaming. No real grumbles. At bigger sites we'd stayed at there were regular pool activities for teenagers like water polo. Maybe the shape of the pool makes it hard to section an area off. The takeaway was very busy at times but c'est la vie. It took them until the next day to replace the shower room light whereas at other Siblu sites the maintenance staff often beat you back to your caravan from reception. No big deal. A good clean site with plenty to offer especially for families with younger children. It also lets you book arrival and departure days away from Saturdays so avoiding busy...
Read moreBEWARE !!! Went here as a family of 3 adults. We went here when the children were younger and my oh my how it has changed. Walked around the park and what a state it was. We felt that as English we were treated like Aliens and second rate. Chose a top of the range caravan ( goodness knows what the cheaper ones looked like ) and were greeted on arrival to the filthiest and outdated caravan I have ever seen. Asked to be moved to another caravan and experienced a caravan behind hosting an evening for 50 people with music and goodness knows what ( after some investigation found out they were selling drugs ). Called security and the phone number did not exist so went in search of security and despite a visit nothing changed. Second night smelt overwhelming smell of gas at 3am, called security who turned up worse for wear followed by a man who ' did gas' and was drunk. Called the fire brigade who confirmed a gas leak and we could not stay in the caravan so slept in our car. We went down to the reception in the morning to request our money back as we wanted to leave ( not safe to be in the hands of drunk security staff ) to be met with the most abnoxious ' Manager ' you would ever have the displeasure to meet who spouted ' no, sewerage '. Funny how the smell went away after you did work of the caravan that the fire brigade recommended !! They did not even know the fire brigade had turned up. Please do not go to this $#£% hole as you and your family are not safe. The so called 'Manager ' said ' i hope I never see you again', rest assured you never will especially as you admitted you have had issues with gas on the site before. Travelled half an hour down the road and found the most beautiful caravan site to enjoy the rest of...
Read moreSummer 2018. Hello, although we enjoyed our stay there were a few issues - since you are asking. The ANPR only worked once with my car. The pool slides and general pool area were a bit dated - they also shut too early in the evening and there were no outdoor toilets near the pools when the indoor ones were shut. The toilets near the bar had run out of soap and had not been replaced. There were many small yellow cockroaches in the eating area outside at the on-site restaurant although we did see these at other establishments also. Our mobile home was brand new but no mosquito netting was fitted and when we asked about this we were told someone would come to do it and the didn't - it was hot and we couldn't open the windows at night. We also did not have a fan. The area outside the trailer became very muddy because of the rain during our stay as it had not been finished properly. We had to ask for stepping stones to be laid and eventually someone came and did this ......although it was not really a professional job and remained a trip hazard. Our friends mobile home, next to ours, was also new but none of the wastewater from the sinks/showers had been plumbed in so the waste water was just running out the bottom and flooding down on to our site. We pointed this out to reception but no one came and fixed it. In addition, the metal flap on the toilet roll holder in the toilet has a sharp unfinished edge and caused me cut my hand quite deeply - the flap part is not necessary and could be removed. Finally the laundry block was dated and quite a few machines were inoperable. Overall we did enjoy our...
