We had a lovely 3 night long weekend staying at the Chateau in Hermonville. The room was beautiful, modern and clean with a sitting area.
The house itself is stunning and the photos from the Chateau don't do it justice. The spaces are grand and the garden is beautiful and huge! With a space at the end for BBQs and picnics or a terrace by the house for champagne, which the house sells by the bottle for a very reasonable price. There is also a very cosy lounge area inside the house you can use.
Breakfast is really very good, and Emmanuelle cooks up eggs for you herself.
Emmanuelle is very friendly and accommodating, she was kind enough to welcome us into the Jazz night that was going on at the property in the building adjacent the main house.
The location is good, 10 minutes to a lovely restaurant in the town and also ten minutes to a bakery, and small supermarket shop. There are nice walks and bike rides nearby and Reims is maximum 20minutes drive from the property. Epernay is also a short drive, so it was a really good base for exploring many champagne houses and vineyards.
I absolutely recommend this place and my wife and I will certainly be...
Read moreWe had a wonderful stay. The château is really beautiful, the garden is a beautiful park and the rooms are spacious and clean. There are enough amenities in the rooms. We stayed in the upper room of the smaller building. Upon arrival we received a warm welcome by the host.
You can buy some drinks, such as beer, wines and champagnes for a good price. The breakfast was simple but good, they use local products and fruits from the garden.
As for the location, it’s a small and quiet village. There is a wine bar on a walking distance and a small supermarket. You definitely need a car to get around. Most of the restaurants and big champagne houses are in Reims. It’s about 20 minutes ride from the château. The host can recommend some smaller wineries nearby, but you have to call beforehand to see if they are open.
It was a relaxing weekend in a beautiful place. The only remark is that the WiFi doesn’t work really good, it has a short reach. But besides that, we would definitely come back again! It’s a gem when you’re going to the...
Read moreWe and two friends just stayed for a weekend in this lovely chateau not far from Rheims, two and half hours drive from Calais.. If you fancy staying somewhere quiet in the Champagne area, you should very much consider staying here. ||||The chateau currently only has two very nice en suite rooms (decorated within the last year. A third room is planned in the chateau itself along with two more exterior rooms). It only serves breakfast (very nice too - great coffee, croissants, etc), so is effectively an upmarket B&B. (There is a nice restaurant 5 mins walk away and also a pizzeria.)||||Emmanuelle, the host, couldn't be more helpful and friendly. You have a guest lounge, with honesty bar (at producer prices). There are plenty of helpful suggestions in the guide pack She lives with her family in the other wing.||||Hermonville is QUIET! Your sleep will not be disturbed. ||||Thoroughly...
