Manoir De La Pommeraie — Hotel in Rennes

My brother and I stayed here while visiting Bruz for the dedication of a Stele to the crew of "Boxcar" an American B-24 shot down over Bruz on June 7th of 1944.||||Sylvie at the front desk could not have been more helpful. First, she upgraded the single room I had reserved to a suite with a bedroom and seperate loft, and then made a reservation for us at Le Bistronome, and gave us directions to get there. (great place to eat!!)||||The next day she gave us directions to a gas station, but our credit cards would not work (when are American banks going to start using smart cards!!), and there was no attendant. Sylvie actually gave us her GPS to use so we could find a gas station to get to Mont-Saint-Michael. She let us keep the GPS that night so we could meet family in Rennes for dinner. When we tried to tip her for using the GPS she said no, but finally took our Euros to give to the maid.||||The staff was always friendly, and you were always greeted with a smile. I really don't know how they could have been any more accomodating or welcoming.||||The Hotel itself is really nice, and is perfectly situated, out in the country, but 2 minutes to get to town.||||Didn't try the breakfast (Found out later that Sylvie had been keeping it open late for us, we felt bad, but what great...

We stayed her on our way back from the South of France. We found it on the day in booking.com but honestly... it was a highlight of teh whole family. The apartement was spacious and immaculately clean. The lady on reception was incredibly friendly and made us feel really welcome from the moment we arrived. there was a real peace and tranquility about the place. We loved the grounds with the huge fish swimming serenely in the water of the pond. Breakfast was good too. We highly recommend this...
