We stayed on a camping pitch for a week with 2 older teenagers. ||The site is quite large, but doesn't feel huge which is nice. It in just a short stroll to the lovely, sandy beach which is well lifeguarded in peek times. The waves were quite large when we were there but we felt safe in the designated area which had 5 lifegurards watching us closely. ||There is a bar and entertainment area, a well stocked and well priced shop, kids clubs (we didn't use these) plus free ping-pong and mini golf. ||Our pitch was blue 32, and although not a bad size in total, it was an odd shape and had a tree in the middle. We ended up with the caravan at an angle with the awning away from the road. Not my favourite way to pitch but there was no other way of fitting on. In addition there was a water tap on our pitch, but this was communal and so it meant that people would be filling their containers (or washing their swimwear!) on our pitch at any time. Sometimes when we were eating our meals which was interesting. The pitch was also quite shaded and we struggled to get any sun at certain times of the day. The pitches in the red quater seemed to have much more sun. ||There are plenty of toilet blocks and we never had to queue for a toilet or shower. Most of the toilets don't have toilet seats (quite common in France) but the ones in the red quarter do. They were cleaned regularly and well stocked generally. There was a slight smell around some of the areas on the campsite to do with the drains I belive. They seemed to be trying to clear them while we were there. Didn't bother us but I know others had mentioned it before. ||The reception were very friendly and helpful. They spoke English really well and were patient with my slow french. We arrived on a Saturday which was a mistake as all the cabins were arriving at the same time. There was a lengthy queue but nowhere to park the car while waiting. We ended up blocking the road a little until some more cars moved and we could move further to the side of the road. There were lots of staff checking people in and there were quick and efficient. ||We initially had a problem with our electrics, but after a call to the designated line, someone came out and fixed it very quickly. I've never had an issue sorted quite so fast. ||The pool was smaller than I had anticipated but there were plenty of sunbeds and rubber rings for the slides. The slides were fab and not hampered by lifeguards making you wait ridiculously long between people. This meant that there were no queues here either. ||All in all a good week. Plenty for children to do on site with organised games etc (which allows you to win tokens for the weekly raffle!) or just chill by the pool...

The policy sent out with the booking terms contradicts the rules enforced on site. They deny this but have sent emails to confirm the rules on site that again contradict the policy. They are unable to provide a specification to confirm what is or is acceptable, only give examples of what is, occasionally these contradict the policy.
The holiday has been ruined and the staff clearly don’t care.
The music from the entertainment area is loud, and could be heard all over the campsite till very late at night. Too late for young children (after 23:00h)
Most of the facilities, such as the pool & children play areas) are closed around 19:00h.
I found that the children who were old enough to be unsupervised formed gangs at the trampolines in the evenings as this was the only facility open when the play areas are closed.
When my children tried to use them (under my supervision), they were shooed away or the gangs just sat on them making them impossible to use. They didn’t care that my kids were young nor that I was there.
I agree with the other reviews that they don’t care after they have your money. I asked (via email) 4+ times on how to make a complaint and still have not been told. (Edit: I have now received a generic email address to make a complaint to after demanding it in the reception. The girl seemed put out by me not wanting to discuss my complaint (again) in reception area, as last time this got me nowhere, but this was more due to me not being able to articulate myself well in French & her hopeless English, despite her being badged as an English speaker).
Maintenance was poor. Cracked floor tiles, loose service floor covers and only a 40% chance of soap for washing yours hands. Not acceptable for 5*.
Pitches were small in comparison to other sites. Ours was only around 72.5m2.
I’ve stayed at this time, site and number of times 30 years, when it was still a campsite (& not a holiday club), but this is the first time would actually say the mosquitoes were relentless. They NEVER stopped. And in most places, they disappear during the day, but not here. I suspect that they have benefited from a change in environment due to the massive number of chalets that...
Read moreWe camped in 2022 and stayed in a bay view lodge 2023.||||Camping pitches are excellent and associated facilities are good as well. Electricity hook up on each pitch most pitches are relatively flat some are quite sandy (ours was). I’d look at the site map and look for an area that is quiet and request a pitch in that area. We didn’t and we ended up on a main route so it was slightly busier than we would have liked. So when booking a lodge looked at the map requested quiet area and that was superb. Lodges are basic but great well equipped and good value for money given the price. Travelling from the UK it allowed us to take our bikes which we couldn’t do before due to the inability to pack all the camping gear and bikes. For us the bikes made a massive difference giving us freedom and ease to cycle into La Palmyre which is simple and easy, really allowed us to make the most of the facilities.||||Shop is well stocked, snack bar food is good and tasty and the on-site restaurant is very good.||||Wouldn’t say anything is cheap but given they have a captive audience I don’t think they take advantage either.||||Pool area is clean given the traffic and seems to have plenty of seating but if you go later it will be full.||||Nighttime entertainment is fine something different each night the children really enjoyed it all.||||Great site with options for all, great facilities and entertainment. ||||Not a holiday I’d have thought I’d have enjoyed years ago and am only sorry that we won’t do more as a family as our eldest is now of an age where she’ll go away on her own.||||Thanks for a fantastic 2 years they were memorable...
