We come to France frequently, we must have stayed in well over a hundred hotels over the years, but La Roseraie is one of our favourites. Fouras is a lovely small town, and we like this whole area very much. The hotel is good in all respects, clean, comfortable and quiet, but its greatest asset is the owners, Carole and Christophe, they look after you so well, and are always helpful. Carole speaks a little English, but she is a clever woman and understands my French very well too. The decor is for want of a better word, "unusual", what look like scaffolding poles for banisters, acres of mauve paint, and the paintings all around the hotel aren't like anything we've seen before, maybe some wouldn't like this, but we do. The hotel is B & B, but there are good restaurants only a few minutes walk away in the town, and others within a short drive. Nothing to complain about at all, this was our second visit and we'll certainly be back. You can't miss a very large and quite magnificent pine tree on the roundabout in front of the hotel, I've added a...
Read moreThe warmth of the greeting from Carole and Christophe on arrival really set the tone for our stay in Fouras. The hotel is quite small but our room was a reasonable size and decorated with real charm and imagination. The shower room/WC was on the small side but everything worked well and the shower was efficient.||In good weather one can have breakfast in the partly covered garden, a lovely way to start the day. The quality of the breakfast was good and at 8€ per person was reasonable.||There is plenty of parking just across the road and it takes less than 10 minutes to walk into the town centre. The hotel is next to a small roundabout but noise was never a problem at night - we slept very well on the comfortable bed.||We really enjoyed our stay at La Roseraie and would recommend it, I am sure that we...
Read moreWe stayed here for one night and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Christophe and Carole are very friendly and helpful. They were both very patient with my French and I managed to understand most of what they said and more surprisingly they understood me!! We stayed in a family suite - 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms - which was ideal as we were travelling with our daughter and granddaughter. The rooms, as previous reviewers have stated, are small but they are comfortable and perfectly adequate. Decoration is quirky but this only adds to the ambience - we loved all of the quirkiness. Breakfast was served in the garden and was very good with plenty of choice. We would definitely recommend this hotel and hopefully we will return there in the not too...
