Hotel La Fournaise — Hotel in Saint-Benoît

Lovely people, lovely kitchen and a lovely oceanview! However, the place needs urgent a person/team with a talent for design- it has soooo much unused potential! The bathrooms- more specifically the showers are in bad shape, were really really unprofessional constructed with the silicon isolation (like it has been made by a 3-year old child) which also has mold. It could just take a day or two for some talented people to correct these things and make a cozier and warmer design. The lovely stuff had made the impression...

Wir haben auf unserer Rundreise auf La Réunion eine Nacht im Hotel La Fournaise verbracht. Der Empfang durch den Manager höchstpersönlich war sehr herzlich, er hat sogar Hilfe beim Tragen der Koffer angeboten. Die Zimmer waren sehr sauber, alles tipptop. Die Betten sind sehr bequem. Wir haben da sehr gut geschlafen. Das WiFi hat auch super funktioniert. Das Einzige, was uns gefehlt hat, war ein Duschvorhang. Das wäre schon eine praktische Sache. Die Aussicht von den Zimmern aufs Meer ist sehr schön. Das kleine Elektrizitätswerk auf der anderen Strassenseite hat uns überhaupt nicht gestört. Die Küche (wir hatten Halbpension) war exellent (Fisch Carry😋) und der Kellner war sehr aufmerksam, freundlich und ein humorvoller Typ. Das reichhaltige Frühstück war sehr grosszügig und liebevoll angerichtet, es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Alle Angestellten des Hotels wirkten sehr motiviert und waren sehr hilfsbereit. Insbesondere der sehr sympatische und humorvolle Manager hat sich viel Zeit genommen um mit uns zu sprechen und uns Reisetipps gegeben. Meiner Familie und mir hat es im Hotel La Fournaise sehr gut gefallen, wir würden sehr gerne wieder kommen und es auf jeden Fall gerne...

Very friendly and helpful staff and a surprisingly good breakfast. So why just two stars? The hotel needs urgently an update, it‘s obviously very old fashioned. The WiFi is a joke, it just works at the reception. Furthermore the street is very very noisy and the view out toward the electricity farm is not so beautiful. We did not use the pool so I can’t tell...
