Everything! It was perfection. Our room was pristine clean, everything that could shine, did shine. Mirrors, taps, shower etc., all gleaming. The cleaning staff are evidently extremely thorough and pay very good attention to detail. Not one speck of dust, smear, smudge, water mark or rogue hair to be seen anywhere. The room really could not have been any cleaner.
We had a super comfy, queen size bed with top quality linen and amazing pillows (which were very welcome after the singular, tiny lump of foam on the Armorique!)
If TV is important to you, the TV in our room was a whopping 50" LG flat screen with French and English channels. There were complimentary bathrobes, slippers shower gel and bottled water. And we were very pleased to find tea and coffee, as this was unexpected. We had a lovely, spacious room on the third floor (there is a lift) with full wall-width windows that completely opened out to a glorious sunset and the sound of the nearby church bells.
So often, with small, independent hotels, they can look a bit tired, with signs of wear and tear in the decor, carpets, fixtures and fittings, but not here; everything was in 'good as new' condition.
The location is excellent - right in the centre of Loudeac, but still very quiet. The young reception staff were all really friendly and helpful and very tolerant of our shocking French. Also, very accommodating of our late evening requests for a bottle of wine (a very drinkable Chardonnay at a bargain 20€) and then later, an ice bucket.
The bar was really attractive, welcoming and comfortable. We enjoyed a drink in its lovely surroundings before heading out to dinner.
We didn't have breakfast, but the breakfast room looked very well set out and I can't imagine it falling short of the excellence elsewhere. We will definitely try it on our next visit.
We would have liked to try the hotel's own restaurant, but sadly it was closed that night so we ate at La Bisquine, just a short stroll away. This was fine and seemed very popular as it filled completely very soon after our 7.30pm arrival and people were being turned away. (Luckily, we had walked around earlier to find somewhere to eat and had popped in to book).
The hotel has no parking of its own but there is a large, free car park just five minutes walk away opposite a large Boulangerie & Sandwicherie. We left our car there overnight and it was perfectly safe.
We will definitely return to Brit Hotel Les Voyageurs as it was an all-round excellent experience and very, very good value. It is an ideal, central base while house hunting...

Read moreWe stayed two nights with our dog on a short trip from the UK to view property. Our room was large and comfortable with a spotlessly clean bathroom. We arrived on a Sunday evening with most restaurants and bars closed but the hotel receptionist booked us into an excellent pizza place - also dog friendly! The hotel staff were all super friendly and really helpful. The hotel was suggested by a local estate agent as being comfortable and dog friendly, and on his recommendation we enjoyed a lovely dinner with great wine. The bar was open at convenient times (unlike much of Loudeac). We were also able to park right outside. Thoroughly...
