I recently stayed at Pabu Plage campsite and had a mixed experience overall. The campsite boasts an amazing view, with its location right by the ocean being a definite highlight. However, I was disappointed with certain aspects.
Firstly, the lack of privacy on the pitches was a major drawback. The boundaries to our neighbors were simply ropes, with no bushes or trees to provide any separation. This made it difficult to enjoy a sense of seclusion and tranquility during our stay.
Additionally, the sanitary facilities left much to be desired. The facilities seemed quite outdated, having been around for approximately 50 years. The shower cabins were tiny, which made the overall experience cramped and uncomfortable. To make matters worse, despite the website stating otherwise, there was no soap available, and there was a persistent unpleasant odor throughout the area.
Furthermore, while the campsite advertises itself as being dog-friendly, wich is true. I was disappointed to discover that dogs were strictly prohibited on the beach at all times. This restriction was not clearly communicated beforehand, and it limited the opportunities for enjoyable beach walks with our furry friends.
While the breathtaking view and the oceanfront location were undoubtedly appealing, the lack of privacy, subpar sanitary conditions, and the discrepancy regarding dogs on the beach were significant drawbacks. I hope the management takes these concerns into consideration for future...

A big plus is the free use of various equipment such as electric bikes, surfboards, and SUPs. However, the rental process is a bit cumbersome: you first have to go to reception to get a form, and then take it to the distribution point. This often leads to long wait times, both when picking up and returning equipment. The system could definitely be more efficient. The staff is very friendly.
The campsite offers fun activities every day, including in the evenings at the community building. Unfortunately, the drink prices there are quite high (e.g. €4.50 for a cola and €6.00 for a glass of wine), which is a shame. As a result, the building is often empty when there are no activities – with more reasonable prices, the space could be much better utilized.
There is also no table service; you have to get your own drinks, which leads to long queues during busy times. During an incident involving broken glass, there was no staff support at all, which was disappointing.
All in all, this campsite has a lot of potential. The location is fantastic, the facilities are good, but there is still room for improvement in terms of service and organization. That said, I would...
Read moreThis was our first time at the campsite and we were extremely impressed! The cabin was well appointed, clean and had everything we needed for a family of 5.
The equipment hire was superb. We used every piece available to us - the beach is superb for the surfing, kayaking and other water sports options. The bikes are great to explore the local area. However, unless you are a keen cyclist, grab an e-bike - it's a hilly region!
The new pool is superb. Clean, well laid out and just a wonderful environment to be in. Likewise the shop, bar, offices and restaurant are also of a really high standard.
For such a big site it didn't feel busy. The entertainment, although nightly, was not intrusive for the younger sleepers in the family. The playground is really well appointed. Toilet facilities clean. It felt extremely safe.
We will definitely...
