We stayed at La Source Bleue overnight en route to The Alps and enjoyed the comfortable rooms and peaceful location. The hotel grounds were truly lovely-beautiful clear lake full of trout and of course the stunning blue source to be discovered. We had an excellent set dinner on the terrace-limited but well thought out choices and perfectly presented although the meal was made a bit stressful by the frequent presence of several wasps(not that this was the hotel’s fault).Service was relaxed and friendly and we were warmly greeted by the owner,Natalie.||The only disappointment was breakfast the next morning. We had been asked what time we would like breakfast and had asked for 8.30am which was agreed. It was therefore very disappointing to be told there were no more scrambled eggs available on the buffet when they had run out!The rest of the breakfast was really good with plenty of pastries, cold meats, cheeses, fresh fruit and yoghurts as well as freshly squeezed orange juice but they did let themselves down by refusing to replenish the eggs when requested. This was something highlighted by another reviewer a few years ago and sadly has not been rectified.Given the slightly expensive breakfast charge-16€ -this was not acceptable.A shame as everything...
Read moreWe stayed here as a stop over on our way to Morzine. Wish we'd stayed longer. Our room was perfect in every way, large enough for us as well as our dog. The grounds and small lake are a delight to walk around, very well kept. It was very peaceful and quiet. There were a couple of old refurbished carriages in the grounds, I would definitely book one of those next time. The dinner was perfect, very well cooked and presented. We sat in a lovely quirky dining room, lots of different styles mixed together but it worked. We were given a menu for breakfast the evening before and were asked what time we would like it delivered to our room. It arrived on time, very well put together, plenty of coffee, well cooked scrambled eggs and delicious smoked salmon. We chose to eat in our room but we did have a table on our patio. There's a lovely resident dog, very docile and well behaved. The whole place was a delight, very clean and welcoming. Looking forward to...
Read moreGreat and delicious restaurant in a remote calm area dith surroubding wilderness!! The menu offers 4 menus with 2 choices for entrées, main courses and desserts, as well as a unique appetizer. Of the 4 choices made, the Saint Jacques risotto was by far the most delicious and visually splendid entrée served : flavorful and creamy! The filet Saint Pierre was tasty as well, though a bit overcooked! Both the côtes d'agneau (veal) as well as the beef served with foie gras were excellent and cooked to perfection! The fine cheese selection provided was diverse, and complimented the bordeaux wine nicely! Desert was a treat as well and enjoyed by all ; the chocolate fondant was by far my favourite!! Meals were beautifully presented, and the staff's participation to our demands made the evening even more pleasant! Will be returning to this hotel/restaurant to try the...
