Shelter From The Orgère — Hotel in Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne

Excellent lunch, kind service with fluent English explanations. You can get with a car directly to the restaurant (in the summer), it is even wheelchair accessible with dedicated parking space for the disabled. From the large parking just above the restaurant starts a nice and short walk - good also for families with strollers, with a possibility of a 5 minutes detour to climb a small wooden bridge. The walk is one way, then you walk back to the parking/restaurant. We had the dish of the day - boiled beef with mushrooms and wine, served with purée, pickles and amazing black mustard. It can be reached by car, it's not really a shelter, it's like a pension. People came to see the view and take a good ice cream. If you are hiking you may be surprised to find no place to stay, especially when a group of tourists just stops...
