Domaine Airborne! The Best Place to stay when you Visit Normandy! #normandy #ww2history #holiday #bnb #vacation #france #ww2 #beach #Omaha #utah #airborne #infantry #dday #domaineairborn

If you are planning to visit the main D-Day spots at Utah, Omaha Beach, etc you should take Domaine Airborne as your main operations camp. This place is unique in Normandy, next to the "D" landing spot (Drop Zone Dog) of the 101st Airborne Division, you will feel in the middle of the battlefield. This place was used as shelter by german soldiers before the D-Day landing and has been visited by famous 101st airborne veterans. The breakfast is delicious and the rooms are extraordinarily decorated. The owner will give you plenty of recommendations of places to visit and organize your trip. He has many "special" stories to tell if you are truly interested in II World War history. One last thing, before you visit Domaine Airborne, do not forget to watch "Band of Brothers", you will understand why! Do not miss this place or you will regret!

If you are coming to visit the Normandy battlefields then there is no better place to stay than at Domaine Airborne. It is extremely well located in and close to just about every major site, particularly if you are visiting Airborne sites. The rooms are very clean, well appointed, and the breakfast is substantial enough that you could skip lunch. The entire property is full of period artifacts and the owners are experts in the local history, particularly that of the 501 PIR. If needed, they can arrange/provide tours and advice about other areas of interest which are not connected to the battlefields. In short, if you come to Normandy and do not stay here, you are missing out! We will definitely be back as there is so much to see and do. Great job Domaine Airborne!!!

We had the most unforgettable experience with Domaine Airborne! Our group of 7 was traveling for my 13-year-old son’s birthday trip before turning 14, and Mr.Carli and Miss Anja went above and beyond to make it incredibly special. From the very start, communication and planning were seamless—they truly listened to everything we hoped to see and brought it all to life.||The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of Normandy’s most important historical sites. Our guide, Mr. Carli, was absolutely phenomenal. His deep knowledge and powerful storytelling made every stop—Omaha Beach, Utah Beach, the Overlord Museum, and more—deeply moving and eye-opening. The tour was packed with history, yet so personal and engaging for all ages.||We stayed in Barrack I and III, which were like cozy mini-apartments—decorated with incredible WWII artifacts and treasures. Barrack I has a cool upstairs hideaway with two beds that my kids loved, while Barrack III has awesome bunk beds built right into the wall, making it feel like a historic yet fun adventure. The decor throughout Domaine Airborne is full of authentic memorabilia, from the rooms to the “Mess” building, which is filled with books, uniforms, guns, a jeep body and many other historical items curated by Carli and Anja. The bathrooms were modern but beautifully tied into the historical aesthetic, and the beds were the most comfortable of our entire trip!||Each morning started with a delicious breakfast (the best croissants!), and dinner reservations were made for us at warm, local restaurants that felt like hidden gems. A surprise trip to a surplus store was arranged just for my son—it absolutely made his birthday unforgettable!||We left wishing we had stayed longer—there’s so much more to see, and Carentan is such a charming and peaceful area.||If you’ve been thinking about a Normandy tour—don’t hesitate. Book with Domaine Airborne! They are incredibly kind, passionate about history, and take care of every detail to make your experience exceptional. My son even added the Normandy cemetery time capsule opening in 2044 to his...

We stayed in barrack 2 for one night, and really wished we stayed longer now. We were met by the owner on arrival who was very friendly and made us feel welcome. He showed us to our room and gave us a well made map of things to see in the area. The room was amazing and all done out in 1940s theme. It was clean, spacious and had all amenities. We were in this area to site see the d-day beaches, st mere eglise and pegusus bridge, and this amazing b&b was in the perfect location for this, and made it feel even more special due to the ww2 theme the hotel is done out in. The owner does tours of the area in his 1940s willy's jeep, which we choose to do the hour tour as a surprise treat for our 7 year old son. The owner has very extensive knowledge of the local area and showed us things that we definitely wouldn't have seen if we didn't do this tour, so we would highly recommend it, and if you can stretch to the 2.5 hour tour I can imagine this being even better, but unfortunately due to time we were unable to experience this. Overall this B&b is amazing, and highly recommended by myself. We will definitely be returning and can't wait to...

My 3 sons and I stayed here for one night (November 16, 202 in 2) on our trip through Europe. Our accommodations (Barracks #3) were very comfortable and relaxing. All the comforts of home. The owners have spared no expense on providing a wonderful experience and make you feel as though you a part of living history. The manner in which they have used the memorabilia and artifacts found at the farm itself and the surrounding area from the D-Day airborne operation of June 6, 1944, is truly breath taking. As an avid military history buff, this place is amazing! The breakfast provided by the host was above and beyond and the dining area is packed with artifacts left behind from both American and German armies. The hosts have a vast knowledge of the area and the events that took place in the surrounding area. We were totally emersed in the history and ambiance of a time long past but not forgotten. I am making plans to return for longer stay and would tell anyone interested in D-Day history to seriously consider staying at Domaine-Airborne! Thank you for a...
