Château du Grand Val — Hotel in Saint-Malo

My husband and I have just returned from our truly magical wedding at Chateau du Grand Val- Everything was absolutely perfect!||||Marie and Roland, the owners, made the whole wedding planning experience so easy and stress free. Marie was fantastic throughout all of the planning- her prompt replies to emails made my life so much easier and i knew i could trust her to source and book everything that was needed for the wedding- from caterers, the photographer, dj equipment, violinist, pony rides...... the list goes on! ||||Every aspect of the wedding day and people involved was superb- the beautiful surroundings, the great photographer, the ceremony in the chapel held by Father Gareth, an English vicar living in France, the champagne and canapes, delicious wedding breakfast (the caterer Pat and Sevrine were amazing) and we were even blessed with a beautiful sunny day. ||||We hired the chateau for our 14 guests, the chapel for the ceremony and the Rose Haus for our wedding breakfast and party.||||The chateau itself is very spacious with 7 bedrooms, a large kitchen and multiple reception rooms. It was spotlessly clean with everything you could need stocked in the cupboards. ||||The chapel is just lovely and although quite small we managed to fit 65 adults inside!||||The rose house is perfect for the wedding reception. We sat approx 70 people comfortably for the wedding breakfast and later Sevrine transformed it into a a great space for the party! It has 2 rooms which is great as one can be used as a bar whilst dancing can take place in the main room. There is also a fully stocked kitchen for the caterers, drinks etc.||||The grounds are kept beautifully and the views of the countryside are breathtaking.||There is even a lake and small waterfall! ||||The pool in the grounds was a real bonus, especially for the children, and safely has a child locked door which was great.||||All of our guests were so impressed with the wedding and the beautiful venue- so many people have said it was like a fairytale.||||I cannot express how happy we are that we had our wedding at Chateau du Grand Val- Thank you so much to Marie and Roland for making our...

We have recently returned from our dream wedding at Chateau Du Grand Val and couldn't be happier. Having found and booked this gem online last year we waited excitedly for our wedding this April. It exceeded our expectations||||We booked the main chateau and the 3 other houses for our guests for a week. This gave us time to enjoy a week of celebration and preparations for the 'big day' on the Friday. We fitted 34 people perfectly into the various properties and they were all greatly impressed with their accommodation the surroundings. Each house was well stocked with cutlery/crockery and cookware. They were clean and well cared for and had all the required amenities easy to hand.||||Marie, the owner was the right mix of being available to help with enquiries but also discreet and happy to leave us to our celebrations. She made the wedding planning straightforward and her knowledge of the area and willingness to help was a godsend.||||The houses and grounds are stunning and we were blessed with good weather meaning the gardens were in bloom and a great bonus for the photos. Had the weather been bad we still would have had our pick of locations indoors for photos. We booked the Rose Room for our wedding meal and party. This was a great size with all tables and chairs provided and a kitchen on hand. We took a van load of equipment with us but for those who want to travel light Marie can provide everything you need inc hiring music equipment, catering and decoration.||||The village of Combourg is approx. 2 miles walk, although this is without a path so you would be best to have a car if you have young children. The village has many lovely restaurants and shops. There is a very handy good sized supermarket and the people are friendly and helpful. ||||Several of our guests are planning return trips either on a B&B basis or to hire individual houses. I am sure Michael and myself will return to celebrate anniversaries in the future. We had a perfect week and our friends and family have all enjoyed the celebration as much as us. We had the great pleasure of being able to use this beautiful chateau for our daughters wedding recently. I cannot express how happy we were with the whole wedding.||||Marie the owner and wedding coordinator is excellent. Anything you want for your wedding she sources it for you, from excellent caterers to violinists to pony rides for the children. The other big plus about Marie is that you always get a reply the same day to whatever request you have asked for and she speaks excellent English.||||The chateau itself is lovely not to big to make it impersonal but really nice with 7 bedrooms, a huge dining room, two sitting rooms and a big kitchen. |||| We held the wedding in the Chapel in the chateau grounds which is small and intimate but we did manage to fit 65 people in! We had Father Gareth perform the wedding blessing (my daughter and son in law had to get married officially in England as they could not be married legally innFrance). Father Garath is a real character who made the whole service very personal and fun.||||The wedding breakfast was held in the Rose House and Pat the caterer did an amazing job with the food as did Sevrine and her assistant who also was the barman for the evening. ||||The grounds of the chateau are amazing with beautiful flowers a wonderful lake and small waterfall, they are are all kept beautifully by Roland the joint owner of the Chateau who is also very friendly and helpful. There is also a heated swimming pool.||||We drove to the chateau and from Calais it is an easy journey taking about 6 hours including a stop for a meal.||||All our guests were very impressed with the while wedding, which in our opinion was just a little bit different then an English wedding and one we will remember forever.
