This site is in a perfect location if you want a beach holiday. We camped in our own tent for 2 weeks in August. It's a fair drive from Calais so would suggest breaking up the journey if travelling a few hours through England as well as France, otherwise could do in one go. The staff were friendly and helpful upon arrival, spoke English very well. The initial pitch we were allocated was terrible for our tent as it is a large tent and the ground had a massive tree root through the middle. Fine for a caravan, not a tent. After speaking to reception they rejigged the pitches and gave us a more suitable pitch. This site is very sandy, being by the beach, so pegs didn't need a mallet to bang in and easily came out of the ground however as the weather was so great this wasn't an issue - not windy. The pitches mainly had hedges round but probably 25 percent didn't and were smaller than previous campsites we have visited in France. The site had 2 good swimming pools, one inside - heated with roof which rarely came open which was a shame, and a much cooler outdoor pool - hardly used others than us and ok once in.|Showers and toilets were ok. We had to queue for showers at about 6pm, but expected. Some toilet blocks had no seats, not what the English expect but they were clean.|The bakery was convenient and open for quite a few hours during the day and the bar provided milk/butter if needed but only when it was open. The bar was great, reasonably priced and served fantastic pizza which you could take away as well as chips and nuggets. Burgers, nuggets, steak also available to eat in at the bar/restaurant and lively staff who were polite and helpful.|The beach is an easy 100m walk from the entrance of the site, amazing wide sandy beach with good waves at times for body boarding and skim boarding. |There is a large supermarket 2 minutes drive away with a petrol station - everything you need there. |The local town of batz sur mer has a bar, restaurant and local shops- very pretty and again only a 5 minute walk.|La croissac is fab for restaurants and bars, so many more than batz. A lovely village to wander around, pretty, bustling. And an easy 20 minute walk from the campsite.|It's likely we will return as we enjoyed this area a lot -...

We were really happy with the position, # 230 was in a quiet, sunny spot tucked away from the little road that went around the site. It was furnished to a high standard (this particular one was brand new this season) and had a dishwasher, air conditioning, gas BBQ and a heated towel rail. We found the whole mobile home to be clean on arrival. The kitchen area worked well & the shower was very powerful with plenty of hot water.|On arrival, check in was quick & once you work out the vehicle one way system around the site it was easy to find our mobile home. On the number of times we spoke to reception staff, we found them to be friendly and spoke perfect English despite us trying to practice our little French! You had to prebook the cleaning inspection several days before (if you were wanting to clean your own mobile home on departure) or you could pay extra for the staff to do this for you.|We ate at the onsite restaurant & found the food to be good, especially the pizzas. We also watched the entertainment on one evening and the duo singers were very good.|The location of the site is perfect to explore the surrounding area on foot, on bicycle and by car. The beach is very close with lovely walks along the coast. We hired bikes from Flower Campings for the day & found this an excellent way to explore Le Croisic & Le Pouliguen. The cycling lanes worked very well. The bus stop just around the corner from the site entrance went into La Baule (bus # 6) and there is also another bus stop up by the windmill on the main road (bus # 5) which went to Guerande. |There was a small onsite shop, which when we were there, opened mornings only & you needed to preorder your baguettes/croissants etc. but I understand during the height of the summer season there is another shop for which you do not need to preorder. The indoor/outdoor pool was busy & had a retractable roof. There was also a games room & a kiddies play area.|The site consists of various types & sizes of mobile homes plus areas for camping & caravanning and we enjoyed walking...
Read moreWe stayed there for a week. Here are our impressions:
Cons: too pricey, useless slow+filtered+monitored wi-fi, no walking distance grocery store, overcrowded, too much car traffic, mobile homes very small and super thin walls, long walk to only one trash disposal area, low quality food at snack bar, swimming pools too small for the amount of people and too shallow for a good swim.
Pros: clean, walking distance to the beach, one car parking by your mobile-home or tent, friendly staff.
Details: the price is definitely too high for what you get. won't be coming back based on that and wi-fi issues described below. I need to be able to do some work even on vacation.
Forget about using the wi-fi: it's extremely slow, it's filtered in such a way that only web pages can be accessed but you won't be able to connect to your workplace to work remotely, and the kids won't be able to play online games precluding you from doing exactly what you'd expect from wi-fi, and it's also going through a monitoring system that records everything you do online. Also you get disconnected every few hours forcing you to go back to the homepage and re-enter the wi-fi password. What a pain!
The number of accommodations per square foot is too high. Whether you are in a tent, an RV or mobile-home, you'll be right into your neighbors. Way too close for comfort! This also contributes to a constant car traffic passing in front of your tent or mobile-home which is quite annoying when you are trying to enjoy so peace and quite by the ocean.
the small mobile homes are cleverly designed, however you must divide by 2 the number of people they are announced for (for ex. a house for 6 is only comfortable for 3 people). the patios are facing the roads inside the camping, so you feel like animals in a zoo when cars are driving by and its passengers looking at you...
In conclusion, this place will only satisfy a few people who don't mind all the cons....
