A lovely two weeks at Chateau la Carrière as a family reunion to celebrate my mother’s 80’s birthday. The estate is a beautiful setting for any occasion, we absolutely loved the secluded and peaceful garden of mature trees over looking fields and forest. The estate is truly stunning and the Chateau a beautiful property in classical Dordogne style - nothing to disappoint you. A perfect combination of old elegance and modern confort. As a family we looked for a holiday home to please everyone, in our case 3 generations. Chateau La Carrière did not disappoint, and we all loved it for the relaxing, blissful experience and the many fun children friendly activities offered on site. Our children kept busy everyday at the swimming pool, the playground ( trampoline was a huge hit) and by roaming the estate safely, exploring the nearby forest. Our hosts at Chateau La Carrière have thought of including loads of games like pétanques, croquet, darts, table tennis, soft archery, pool table, and even video games to keep children entertained and therefore parents happy! Another absolutely favourite for family night was the private cinema. The magical set up offers a comfortable seating, large screen and mesmerising start ceiling to watch favourite movies via DVDs or Netflix. Other little touches that we loved… - L’occitane soap and shower products throughout the house. - Fresh flowers in the bathrooms - JBL portable speakers around the house - Easy to use entertainment system including Netflix and Amazon system - Golf buggy to drive around the estate - Terrace overlooking the valley with dinning and lounge area, perfect for chilled evenings - Well appointed kitchen with everything you need. Would definitely recommend booking the personal Chef for special evenings - a lovely treat! Overall we all loved our stay at Chateau La Carrière. Thank you to Tanya and Adriaan, our host for the warm welcome and the attention to details they put into the property.

My family spent an unforgettable week at the chateau with two other families. From top to tail the experience was everything we could have hoped for and more. There was so much room to spread out, indoors and out. The park grounds were magnificent and well-maintained and the chateau itself was beautifully appointed — comfortable beds, lovely linens, the coziest kitchen, an epic pool, and comfortable living spaces to accommodate 6 adults and 9 children. Amélie and Josh were indispensable in creating magic during our stay. We benefited from delicious catered breakfasts, restaurant reservations, expert advice on local experiences — and our children were enthralled by feeding the chickens situated on the property and collecting their eggs. 10/10

We travelled as an extended family group (6 adults and 5 children) from Australia and spent an amazing week at Chateau La Carrière. The chateau was extremely well fitted out, clean, spacious and very comfortable. Our kids loved the pool, table tennis, cinema and spacious grounds to roam. We loved exploring the nearby towns and could have easily spent another week doing so! A huge thanks to Amelie and Josh who were amazing hosts. Nothing was too much trouble and they really made our week run smoothly. I’d highly recommend Chateau La Carriere!

I just returned home from an amazing vacation at Chateau La Carriere. The Chateau is exquisite and the owners have paid close attention to every detail to make your holiday relaxing and luxurious. The decor and amenities are first class! Beautiful fresh flowers throughout the residence, comfy beds and top of the line amenities. The grounds are so amazing that it made it hard for my group to break away and go out to sightsee because we didn't want to leave our slice of paradise! But we did see so many wonderful attractions close by to the Chateau and it was always a treat to return to our beautiful castle at the end of the day. We decided to hire Ruth, the private chef, and it was the best decision we made. Not only is Ruth a talented chef but her personality is so delightful and she has a heart for customer service. Tanya and Adrian were wonderful to work with throughout the process. Always available to communicate if we had questions. The love they have for the property shines through as soon as your drive into the front gate of Chateau La Carriere. We had 14 adults in our party and found we all had the privacy and space we needed. It was very hard to say goodbye to this lovely retreat and we hope to return again...

I was part of a group of 14 who spent 1 glorious week at le Chateau La Carriere. Where to begin … For me what made our visit to this region so very special was staying at the chateau. The moment you enter the grounds you know you’ve stumbled upon something very unique! It’s clear that Tanya and Adrian put their heart and soul into the accommodations. You have very spacious, beautifully decorated rooms, indoor / outdoor dining area, an outdoor ‘living room’, a beautiful kitchen, a bar, cinema room, full spa / workout space, an expansive pool / pool house, lake / lake house, and a golf cart to help you easily navigate the immense, beautifully manicured grounds.

If your anything like our crew, you don’t have much desire to cook while on vacation. The good news is that there is a wonderful chef named Ruth who can cook up anything your heart desires. We actually hired her for the full week and ate like kings and queens in our castle thanks to her outstanding culinary skills.

You can’t go wrong with booking this property. You will be well taken care of throughout your visit thanks to your gracious hosts. We are already planning...
