Maora Village — Hotel in Sartène

Lovely hotel, we think we might have got a room upgrade as we had more than expected in our room however it was the very top of the resort with a few steep hills to contend with so wouldn't be ideal for those less able. For us it was great and enjoyed the views just less so the walk back up from breakfast/pool. Believe someone lives above who were very grumpy with the children which is not ideal for hotel guests. No WiFi unless you pay a lot extra which is great to keep the kids off the TV/devices but also a poor signal so not helpful trying to research your days ahead, they do have free WiFi by the pool but it's so slow it's close to pointless. The main pool is great for the kids and kept them amused most days, sunbeds can be an issue at times but generally available, the others pool area could do with a bit of attention but I guess they are secondary. The restaurant battles with the wasps as best they can with everything being outdoors, but this did provide drama each day with the kids fighting for their breakfasts before the drinks had a wasp in or their food was eaten and wasted. Continental breakfast was fine but would be great to have eggs as an option to compliment. The restaurant in an evening is fantastic, only two options for the main from the choice of a set menu. We ate here 4 out of 7 days so shows we liked it. Even made one of our less adventurous kids experiment and enjoy food a bit more, our other is gluten free which proved more difficult but that was an issue for all of Corsica sadly for her. The owners were friendly enough, not sure how often they have their own friends visiting but we felt a lot like we were interrupting a party a lot of the time which was an unusual atmosphere. It was also difficult to understand who worked there and who didn't at times for the same reasons but guess that might have been bad timing. Overall we'd recommend as a choice if visiting the area, the approaching road could do with a lot of attention with endless potholes but not sure how much say they have in that. Corsica as a whole has so many lovely places to see, it's just a lot more expensive than we'd previously been aware of so not for anyone needing to watch...

Wir waren eine(n) Tag/Nacht, vom 29. Juli bis 30. Juli in dem Anwesen/Campingplatz. Erst einmal das positive, die Belegschaft ist super freundlich, es gibt Parkplätze vor den jeweiligen Bereichen und es gibt eine große Poolarea mit einer Bar. Auch war das Frühstück für französische Verhältnisse ziemlich gut, wenn es leider auch ziemlich viele Wespen gab.

Leider gibt es sehr sehr viele negativ Punkte die wir so, in diesem Preissegment noch nie erlebt haben: Der Zustand des Geländes war Ausbaufähig und der Weg zum Frühstück war nicht beschwerlich, aber ziemlich umständlich. Wir waren hier aber auch an der äußersten Ecke des Geländes. Damit kommen wir schon zum nächsten Punkt, WLAN war in unserem Bereich nicht vorhanden, das WLAN was vorhanden war, lehnte jede MAC Addresse ab die versuchte sich ein zu wählen. Mobiles Netz via Handy war aber ziemlich stabil und dauerhaft verfügbar. Die Poolarea hatte leider mehrere Punkte wo die Schrauben aus dem Holz guckten. Im unteren Pool war am Ausfluss, auch die Spitze einer rostigen Schraube so, dass unser Sohn da fast rein gefasst hätte, als er sein Spielzeugboot retten wollte. Mehrere liegen ließen sich nicht mehr aufstellen, so dass die Rückenpartie dauerhaft unten lag. Die Parkplätze waren Recht groß, wenn auch zum Teil ziemlich tricky beim Ausparken. Auf den Wegen waren mehrere Randsteine so locker, dass sie auf die Fahrbahn bröckelten.

Jetzt komme. Wir zum Punkt wo für uns der Spaß vorbei war und es für uns der Punkt war, dass wir hier niemals empfehlen wurden mit kleineren Kindern zu verbleiben. Auf dem Gelände streunten mehrere große Hunde umher, als auch mehrere Katzen. In unserer "Unterkunft", man vergesse bitte nicht, das Gelände hat 3 Sterne, waren eine Steckdose ohne Verkleidung, also offen. Eine Steckdose machte Geräusche bei Benutzung und das Mobiliar war in einem interessanten Zustand. Uns wurde allerdings ein Bett für unser Kind zur Verfügung gestellt. Wir haben gesehen, wie andere Bereiche eingerichtet waren und in welchem Zustand diese waren. Mehr als enttäuschend, wenn man dann eine eher Ferienlager angehauchte Unterkunft vor findet.

Etwas neutrales, Geschirr war gut vorhanden und wir hatten eine kleine Küche dabei. Die Dusche war im guten Zustand und war getrennt vom WC.

Wenn man doch den Weg hierher findet, bitte dringend an etwas gegen Wespen denken, wir mussten leider Abendbrot drin essen. Aber das ist unser eigenes Verschulden. Auch sollte man sich klar sein, das der Weg dahin sehr sehr sehr interessant ist... Allrad Geländewagen können da nicht...

Maora Village is a very lovely place to stay. The villas are nice, clean and spatious. Airconditioning is good, the kitchen is not very big, but sufficient for a holiday home. There's a washing machine as well. Overall the park isn't very big, so it's not too crowded. It's situated on the slope of a hill, providing a beautiful view on the surrounding countryside and sea. The swimming pool is beautifully laid out and the adjoining restaurant has good tasty food. The beach is just a couple of minutes away, by car but it could be walked as well. Bonifacio is just 10 minutes by car. The place is run by a very nice (and very busy) family, giving it a personal touch. I absolutely loved our stay here and I can really...
