Liked: It is a really peaceful site. Large and lots of space as not very busy so very quiet on a morning etc.
We looked out onto the fishing lakes and we walked around them often. This kids (age 7&10) really liked it.
Super U incredibly close to handy and loads of good bike rides around, we went up to the local forest and made dens one day.
Snack bar friendly and full of locals so must be good food although I didn’t eat in there. Got a good coffee in the morning and people that run it are really friendly.
Washing machine and dryer available to use.
We went to Saumur one day (20mins) and to a outside lake for swimming (20mins). Cycled around the area and Mouliherne 10 mins away has a great fishing lake for walks and playground where we caught crayfish.
Disliked: It is a peaceful campsite so not for those with kids that want activities.
It is not an expensive site and that is reflected in the showers/toilet area. They are fine and hot strong showers but the area is a bit rough...
Read moreOur hosts, Fred and Casandre, are the new owners of this wonderful site. They have a great site here, with good facilities, plus very hot showers. They are opening a great bar and snack bar, which will develop into a great eatery. Back to the site, they have a super U store within walking distance. There are all sorts of walks direct from the site, forest walks, or open countryside. The wildlife is plentiful, and the dawn chorus is unbelievable, noisy, and exciting. The site is well spaced and well serviced with electric hook-ups and water points. There are good grey and toilet cassette cleaning facilities. Our cat MJ loves this site. It's well defined by a fence around its perimeter to keep our fur babies happy and safe. Our hosts have a very loving bouncy big dog called Rotule(ball joint in english). He is very friendly. We all plan to...
Read moreWhat a gem of a site. We have just stayed here for a week in our touring caravan and we will certainly be back. The access to the site is good. Fred and Cassandre keep the site clean and tidy. Our pitch was huge with electric hook up. We could orientate the van in whichever direction we liked. We had lots of sun and some shade and the sunsets were amazing!! We liked the in site bar which opens at the weekend as a restaurant too and is popular with the locals. Great friendly atmosphere and they were able to cater for my gluten free needs too. Very reasonably priced tasty meal. Great place for peace and quiet with a central green set up for volleyball, table tennis. The stroll around the lakes was beautiful too. We really have had the best week! Thank you Fred...
