La Forcerie de Chatelais — Hotel in Segré

We booked this accommodation from Canada and while we had some difficulty because we did not have a direct PayPal account, eventually the hostess accepted our reservation (with some misgivings expressed in a cryptic email). Even though there were several sign posts to guide us, it was difficult to find -- we actually knocked on the door of another house thinking that the sign indicated it was La Forcerie, however, the trouble was worth it. The accommodation was just modern enough to be convenient without losing its charm. Beds were comfortable and the bathroom was exceptional (very spacious & loved the shower heads). It is self catering with a shared living room, kitchen and garden. Breakfast is provided at an additional cost and while we did not partake, we were not made to feel uncomfortable while sitting together with those who did. We booked La Forcerie de Châtelais for 2 nights because we had to go to a wedding in the area. We would arrive on friday night after 2am because we had to drive over 650 km from Belgium. Our hostess made no point of that and just got up in the middle of the night to give us our keys. We had very spacious rooms that were clean and completely in order. The next morning a (French) breakfast was waiting for us. ||Unfortunately my husband got food poisining from the dinner the night before and was too sick too leave the room and come with us to the wedding. Again our hostess helped us out with the pharmacie, getting him something if needed when the rest of us where at the wedding and even letting him sleep a little longer on sunday before we had to drive back. She was exceptionally friendly...

You will not be disappointed if you choose to stay here. With a wonderful host in Cecile Laforce, you will not want to leave. Rooms are modern and well proportioned; clean,tidy and comfortable. Breakfast is a treat, with more than enough to eat. There are facilities for tea and coffee; with a microwave and fridge for guests to use. The showers are powerful and hot.
