Première Classe? More like Troisième Classe. It's fair to not expect much for the cheap price, but this was less than what we expected. We slept in a room for three people, with one double bed and a single bed above it, reachable by ladder. The room was terribly warm and the AC would only spew warm air, despite us putting all the settings to cold. In fact, the entire hotel was terribly warm, like they had the central heating set to 24 degrees at all times. The shower was broken, so you had to hold the showerhead while you showered. The double bed was incredibly hard, and the light of the light switch above the single bed up top kept flickering right above my head, making it very difficult to fall asleep. The hotel had 'no smoking' signs throughout the entire hotel, but I've never smelled as much smoke as in this hotel. There also seemed to be some unsavoury figures outside at some point, making a lot of noise. The only nice thing was that it was behind a fence, so you knew your car was 100% safe. Again, you wouldn't expect much from a hotel for this price, but this was...
Read moreWe were caught out after our ferry had a change of port so had to quickly book a night’s accommodation. We didn’t want to spend a fortune, but still wanted somewhere clean and decent. We booked a twin room in Premiere Classe Sens Nord. On arrival, the gentleman on check in had his friends in playing on an air hockey table.... so he was a bit distracted. We got to our room. Missing light bulb. No soap in the bathroom. Shower soap dispenser empty and broken. Toilet seat lid on the floor. Shower mat thin, tatty, torn and frayed. Air con didn’t work. Opened window - in came the cigarette smoke, so closed window. Got the reception gentleman to come up, but nothing he could or would do. Next morning was a buffet breakfast. Okish, but don’t spend the money is our advice. All together, cheap stay, not cheerful, avoid this hotel is the best...
Read moreFrom afar, this looks more like a place of internment rather than a hotel, complete with perimeter fencing and a security gate that locks you in after dark. The lobby smells of industrial cleaner so strong it makes your eyes water and the colour is that of a 90's holiday camp. That said, the room was comfortable, ours was clean, my folks' wasn't but they were horrified and cleaned it immediately. The rooms are basic. Very basic. They are a box, with a not massively comfortable bed, a tv and an inexplicably posh window. Caesars palace this is not.||That said, it's under £40 a night and conveniently located for the autoroute. Can't really fault it but then wouldn't say it ranks in the memory. Would like to think this would have been what holidays would have been like had the nazis...
