Chalet l'Ecuela, The Old School — Hotel in Thonon-les-Bains

A wonderful chalet and retreat. We were a group of three families who regularly ski at Easter. The accommodation was perfect for us all, and by far the best we have stayed in. The bedrooms were large, clean and beautifully decorated with ensuite facilities. There was so space and living areas you never felt cramped. The games room was a great place for the young adults to hang out and play in. The kitchen and dining areas were perfect, plenty of space for food and cooking facilities were first class. We were all able to sit around a big table and eat comfortably. The hot tub was well used and the very welcoming after a day on the slopes. Incredibly beautiful chalet in the mountains. Stunning views and extremely spacious and comfortable, with large bedrooms, comfy beds and an ensuite for every bedroom. We all loved the wood-fired hot-tub and the games room with table tennis and pool (plus table football upstairs!). Two nights we had delicious meals provided for us by Mark and Estelle, which was wonderful.

The location is lovely, close to a very picturesque lake with paddleboarding, kayaking etc. There are fun activities nearby like white-water rafting and canyoning. Lots of good hikes, including straight from the door.
