The best place we stayed during our 10 days tour through the Dordogne to Bordeaux and then back up through the Loire. Unfortunately we only stayed here one evening, and with an evening balloon trip booked, we didnt make the most of it, but I still managed a river swim (which was remarkably warm), a quick paddle on the canoe, and walk around the grounds. Staying in a converted mill is like stepping back in time, with the rooms tastefully decorated. Fabrice was very welcoming, and I would definitely recommend a stop off here, you wont regret it.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. An absolute beautiful experience from beginning to end. Idilic spot in a windmill with two damns, lots of water activities to be done with their kayaks and paddle boards. They have a small little farm with all sorts of chickens, ducks, donkeys… beautiful environment all around. An absolute excellent welcoming and personal treatment all throughout our stay. We stayed in a bunch of 5-star hotels throughout our Valley of Loire roadtrip but this one was definitely the highlight of the trip.

We had a most magnificent time at the Mouilin Chevriere! Many thanks to Fabrice, Francois, and sweet Germaine and Julie too for your attentiveness and gracious hospitality. Our Moulin was spacious, comfortable and well appointed with beautiful linens and absolutely everything we could possibly need. The setting on the Indre River is indescribably gorgeous in all the changing light of the day and even stunning in the rain. Our escape to the Loire was made perfect at Mouline Chevriere. 🥰

We loved our deeply relaxing stay at this beautifully renovated mill right on top of the river.

The owners of this four room b&b are fantastic hosts who make you feel very welcome and will take great care of you. They have done a fantastic job renovating the place with a lot of attention to details and they keep it in pristine condition.

We loved the serenity of this place. There is only nature around you. Breakfast is served on the terrace right above the river. There is plenty of space to sunbathe. You can have a swim in the river, which only has modest currents and comes with water lilies and dragonflies.

I usually don't like to travel to the same place again, but will definitely come back...

As soon as I walked in the mill, I knew Fabrice’s former career was an Interior designer, it’s just simply exquisite. As soon as we met Fabrice we felt straight at home, he’s the perfect host. My husband wants to come back next year, so that’s a good a recommendation. I loved the honesty bar with all the best local wines and champagne, we enjoyed a bottle on the terrace every night before heading out for dinner . We stayed 3 nights but it wasn’t long enough so next time il book longer. It’s on our top five I’d say of best places we have stayed and also felt so relaxed. So much wild life to see in this area, the countryside around the mill is...

Just arrived home from a 3 night stay at this wonderful place. Our hosts Fabrice and Francois offer a very warm welcome and nothing is too much trouble to make your stay enjoyable. Fabrice is a font of knowledge with regard to the Loire Valley and his suggestions for both local restaurants and places to visit was better than any travel guide! |The setting is idyllic and charming, rooms and communal areas tastefully decorated with lots of space outside to relax. A typical French breakfast of high quality and a comfy bed for the end of a busy day all goes to make for a perfect stay which we do not hesitate...
