We already come here for many years now and the campsite itself is at a very beautiful location alongside the river Dordogne and with a castle on the campsite itself. The campspaces are big, green and with enough shade.||But sadly that are nowadays the only good things about the campsite. The toilet buildings are very dirty. The special group "Estivant" causes a lot of noise during the nights. Compared to other campsites in France, cars are allowed to drive on to the campsite during the night which causes a lot of noise too.||Then about the restaurant, well if you can call it a restaurant nowadays. The location is perfect, in the castle with an overview of the river. But food wise it's better to stay away from this place. They change menus 15 minutes before the restaurant opens so if you are drinking a nice glass of beer or wine at the castle and are thinking of ordering a nice Burger, ask again when the restaurant open as it might surprise you that they suddenly don't want to prepare burgers. Also if you order a pizza be prepared for black burned pizzas. Yes they don't mind serving it even when it's burned.|Also check the amount of money they charge you afterwards as math isn't their biggest strength either. |In the past you could also take away food every evening but nowadays most of the evenings they just say they don't do takeaway.||This week the dutch company ANWB came to the campsite to do an inspection and see if the campsite was still worth the 4 stars they currently have but I think they are going to lose some. The benefit of this is that the toilet buildings are now being cleaned properly for the first time in 10 days.||I really hope that the actual owners stop the rental agreement with Sea Green asap. Since Sea Green took over the management of the campsite every year the experience has gotten worse and less and less people come to the campsite and they can't blame it on Corona.||Let's hope it can be turned around because the campsite itself is at a beautiful location and could bring joy to a lot of people with the...
Read moreWe stayed here for 2 weeks, have to say really disappointed, I would give one star really but I gave 2 for the location and the view, everything else was awful, definalty isn't a 4 star campsite. The toilets were so dirty and disgusting, feaces on the tissue on the floor , dog fouling on pitches and just left for kids to stand in. On arrival we pre paid the extra for a Riverside view , lady couldn't find our booking, once found we were told twe ocudl go anywhere from pitches 35 down to 20 something, well we w t to 35 and was awful , the Netherlands was next to us and were so noisy still going at 5am we had to tell them to be quiet as our children were kept awake, they didn't keep quiet. After 3 nights of no sleep and grumpy children we asked to move pitch. We got moved to pitch 12 which was fine, we went shopping and parked next to our tent for 5 min to unload our shopping and a lady came over in her buggy as we were parked there I explained we were just unloading our car with stuff She told us to move. Which we were doing once unloaded. Next day we was asked by another member of staff what our booking was under as they didn't no who we were .so unorganised. The way I can explain the camping at the front Is like a refugee site. The view was stunning don't get me wrong but everything else was a huge huge let down, hygiene really needs to be investigated as I see were not the only ones to complain about this. Not acceptable especially after covid. No security anywhere in the evening with people playing loud music just being loud at ridiculous hours of the morning . Have to say we Felt very unwelcome being English. Will certainly NOT return and will stay well away from sea...
Read moreWhere do I start? This place is the "Fawlty Towers" of campsites! We arrived, to be sent to a pitch that was occupied (a lovely riverside pitch that we had been looking forward to staying at). We paid a premium for this pitch and were bitterly disappointed to be told that we had to find another pitch. We were given a non-riverside pitch without electricity (because the electricity was broken - and the receptionist was still selling electricity to other campers whilst knowing full well it wasn't working!). After a long wait and unsuccessful conversations with a totally arrogant, blunt and rude chap on reception, the manager eventually offered me a refund which had to be processed by their head office. At the time of writing this review it has not been received (nearly 2 weeks after our stay). Staff were rude and unwelcoming. Food in the restaurant was limited and basic. We slept and left; and were glad to have left! One of the other campers told us that they had similar experiences and were leaving after one night despite having booked and paid for 4! Says it all really! Furthermore, the site is covered in low trees and we struggled to manoeuvre in our motorhome - take this into account if you book; although I'd not recommend it! The site's only saving grace is its beautiful setting on the bank of the Dordogne - however, there are plenty of other campsites that are...
