We’ve stayed for three nights at the Stargazer with our small child and we had a blast. The hosts, Hayley and Mike, are great people, super friendly and very attentive and we loved chatting with them. The Stargazer tent is beautiful, both from the inside and the outside. You have quite a big space if you book this tent, as the lot comes with a place to park your car, the main sleeping tent, the kitchen and dining tent, two beach chairs, a hammock and a table-bench with sunshade. The stargazer has a big and comfortable double bed, a chest of drawers, a place to hang your clothes, two armchairs, which can be converted into beds and two bedside tables. It’s really cosy and spacious and you can remove the inner covers to see the stars at night. Absolutely stunning. It gets rather hot in the tent during the day in August, which is to be expected, but around five o’clock, the tents were in the shade and it became much cooler and at night it got cold and airy in the tent, which was fantastic. Rarely have we slept this great, especially, since our son also slept well and we could “sleep in” until eight. The kitchen/dining tent reminds me of a safari tent in Africa, it is really well equipped and if it had a sink you’d have everything you need. There’s a fridge, an oven-stove-combination, a cattle with a variety of teas, a French press, an espresso maker, a big canteen to store water, a basin for your dirty dishes and enough storage room to store everything you would need. Everything is well kept and tidy and you can see the loving details. The bathrooms are a very short way away and they are immaculate. Everything looks shiny and chic and very welcoming. We had never been camping before and I think we might be a bit spoiled now after this. This is also where you do the washing up. The pool was constantly cleaned and looked after by our hosts and the water was cold, something every pool should be. It was such a welcome respite from the heat and with the tall trees you’ll always find a place away from the sun. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to stay for the pizza nights, since we only stayed for three nights, but if they're anywhere near as tasty as the viennoiserie Mike bakes every morning, then they've got to be great. There’s croissants, pains au chocolat and pains au raisins and they’re worth every cent. You can also get coffee and other drinks for very reasonable prices up at the reception area. There’s plenty of seating space for when you’d like to have dinner at a big table or you want to eat in a larger group. Near the campsite is the village of Treignac, which is quite charming, with an Intermarché to stock up on provisions and a big lake where you can swim and do other activities. The best part about this camp site are, however, the hosts, Hayley and Mike, who actually stop and have a chat, engage with the guests and are always there if you have a question and where you can see that they love what they’re doing. Thanks for a fantastic stay, we will...

We have a 10-meter Motorhome so was surprised to find such a beautiful campsite in a small pretty Village of Madranges that could accommodate our size vehicle. Le Ranch Camping is in an idyllic location hidden in beautiful nature with ample of spaces between the motorhomes and caravans with a second designated field for tents. Because of Le ranch camping location, it does not impose on the small beautiful French village of Madranges and blends in with the natural beauty of the countryside.
There are so many things this beautiful area of France has to offer, we tow a small car behind our motorhome which was ideal for exploring a little further afield. If you like to stay local there are the most amazing walks that take you through the countryside and around the mountains. Le Ranch also offers electric mountain bikes to hire, Halley and Michael the owners were great in giving us all the information we needed to set out our day.
We called before arriving as we were nervous if they could accommodate the size of a vehicle. On the telephone Michael was amazing explained everything and even give us better directions in how to reach them without going through little Lanes, (like our SatNav wanted to take us). When we arrived we were welcomed by Halley and Michael who was fantastic and very friendly. Halley gave us the choice of two extra-large pitches for us to choose where we spent 5 night after planning to spend two nights on our travels.
All services excellent shower block with toilets immaculately clean anything you needed Michael and Hayley was always available who was happy to suppliers with BBQ and charcoal. There is a small shop on site which is reasonably priced for your forgotten items.

Read moreBooked a Motorhome through Oulala Motorhomes in France to travel from the Dordogne region to Marseille and back for the Rugby world cup in 2023. Le Ranch is located a short drive from the guys at Oulala (your actual TV stars, as seen on a new life in the sun) strongly recommend you book in at Le Ranch for your first night, especially after a long days travel to pick up your camper. Le Ranch has all the must haves for me when using a motorhome. A clean shower block and toilets, (be honest we only ever use the motorhomes if desperate at 0300hrs and are slight of frame) Le Ranch facilities were very clean with soap and other extras provided, including toilet paper, which was not the case at some of our other stops. Electrical hook up provided and charming hosts. Croissants and coffee available in the morning, if you order but you will need to stock up some food for your evening meal as dining is usually not available on site, but lets be fair you have booked your motorhome to live an out door life and this is a lovely place to sit outside, eat your own food and actually look up and see the stars above you at night whilst listening to silence of the wild which is all around you.|Nearly forgot, you can get a beer or two at the dining area and my brother and his wife had a dip in the small pool. Before leaving refreshed in the morning we booked the night before we reluctantly had to return our Motorhome before setting off for Marseille via...
