We had booked way ahead and were looking forward to spending the two nights here, pleased to have found an arrangement that would allow us to rest up during the hot afternoons and to make our own breakfast. We were advised to check in after 3 pm as the reception isn't fully functional before then and getting the key might have been tricky... The first thing we saw on the front door of the large, two storey complex, was a note that the air conditioning was down (we arrived on Saturday). When we asked if this would be fixed the answer was not until Monday at least (our day of departure). Apparently, there were some rooms with aircon still doing its job (28°C in the shade) but when we asked if we could change rooms, we were told the hotel was fully booked. We tried to rest but there was insufficient fresh air so we left to walk around the marina and Vannes centre, about 10 minutes drive away. We moved the bed nearer to the window at night but it did little good. We checked into another (budget) hotel the next day, an additional expense but with my heart problems and my husband's asthma, who's counting?||Apart from this dreadful setback, I would return but probably won't as our reason for being in the area will not be valid again. However, I can recommend the room which is large and comfortable and clean, but I also recommend you call ahead and check if the aircon / elevator / internet / TV .... are fully...
Read moreThe rooms are basic but have all that one needs. Comfortable bed, decent bathroom, and basic cooking facilities with crockery and cutlery. Keep in mind this is an Appart'city not a hotel, and do check out the difference if it's not clear to you. The location is good, with a 30 minute or so walk into the old centre of Vannes town, pleasant when we visited at the end of September but perhaps not so good in winter. (We are fit over 60s and the walk to town took 30 minutes. ) A pleasant surprise was the excellent buffet breakfast with great cheeses, fruit, cured meats, delicious bread and pastries, local honey, eggs, specialist teas, a wide choice of jams, and more. All the staff were helpful, friendly and...
Read moreThis was a weird experience. The staff were great. Charming receptionist on check in but this sadly didn't make up for the stark site and clinical room. The site is on a part finished industrial site. Facility looks like it has been built on waste ground. Unfinished landscaping added to the moon surface feel. The room felt like a cross between an unused kitchen and a medical centre. No warmth nor soul whatsoever. I imagine if you wanted self catering the kitchen section would have been useful but we wanted to eat out so no use to us. This would have been ok if at bargain price but we paid decent money for this. Sorry won't be...
