We booked a tent pitch at the very last minute by phone and were really impressed by the patient, helpful and friendly response we were given, by the English speaking reception. We were just as impressed when we arrived: a very spacious grass pitch ideal for a large tent with awning, water and electric very close by, lovely trees that looked sufficiently healthy not to fall on our tent (which we had experienced elsewhere). The loos and showers are mixed gender but there are sink cubicles so that seemed fine. The showers are almost perfect, very clean with a divider wall within for keeping clothes dry, hooks, lovely hot water, good drainage, spacious. The push button taps were a bit quick to switch off, which was a slight hassle when rinsing hair, so 9 out of 10 for the showers. Having urinals in the open right next to the washing up sinks seemed utterly bizarre, but noone seemed to use them, so no problem. The electric bike hire is fantastic and just the right environment to try one out, with flat, quiet lanes all around. The local beach is lovely and long and there are amazing megaliths within driving range of the site. The local supermarket is easily cycleable, as is Sarzeau town centre, which is very pleasant. All in all, a superb site which we hope to...
Read moreLiked: We loved our stay at this family friendly campsite. The location was wonderful; a 10 minute walk to the extensive beach (and coastal path) as well as having shops a few minutes drive away. The pitches were good sized with enough room for our campervan and a decent tent. Electrics and water were convenient. We got there before peak season and so the main wash house was not yet open. That said, the shower, toilet and sink area available was kept clean. Marielle was very warm and welcoming and spoke proficient English; she was very helpful. We took a local bus into Vannes for the day so it's a nice feature for those not wanting to worry about parking in the city. The beach is sandy with some rock formations. It's great for playing in the sand and tide pools with enough shells and sea glass to keep one busy. We didn't use it but there is a large playground on site and a friendly camp dog and goat. There's also a little clubhouse/leisure centre but it hadn't opened up properly while we were there.
Disliked: The only downside is that WiFi is only free for 15 minutes with service spotty and slow. It's fine for doing a daily check but any length of time will cost you. Mind you, there's plenty of things to do and disconnect with the...
Read moreWe stayed at this pleasant campsite for 5 nights. Prices are clearly marked on the website and at the entrance to the campsite. The area is perfect for cycling a d we chose a different route every day. There is a small farm area with goats and chickens and a play area. The site was busy, but very quiet, mainly birdsong. You can get 15 minutes a day free wi-fi, but the connection can be a bit hit and miss! There is a reading room, small bar with traditional games such as shuffleboard and table tennis tables nearby, small shop, you can order bread and pastries and crepes were available from 2 euro each. Clean facilities, but don't forget toilet paper or soap! The beach is very close - 5 mins by bicycle. 15 minutes to Sarzeau for shopping. We also went to see a wonderful show at the Hermione Cultural centre in Sarzeau with ballet, contemporary dance by the Dance School and Vannes...
